That's the beauty of Winston. He fucking 79 and he's up there without a teleprompter, just eviscerating his opposition with pure wit. Hipkins, Chloe, TPM all got a serve. That's what they took from us, politicians that you could respect regardless of the side of the aisles.I’m not a winston fan, but he is a politician like no other. Such an amazing speaker

There’d be a fair bit of piss floating aroundImagine running afoul of Winnie at his peak like age 45, it must have been terrifying.
I got asked for a $20k bar tab once and they were serious. ' Call it a consulting fee'.It still be labelled that now by TPM. Probably something like we are stuck with a white man's system and they have been stealing from us for the last 185 years....
Reality is it is exactly what it looks like.
By the poor, for the poor, making them poorer.

What I liked about Swarbrick’s tirade was it was backed up by stats, whereas here I didn’t hear much more than a threat for 2025? Hopefully he’s got something to offer. I used to enjoy stuff like this too in this footage of him a few years ago, but it wore off. I’ve got no respect for his type of politician. He’s a lawyer by trade and it comes across in the way he conducts himself
Musk is an amazing entrepreneurScholz dismisses Musk's assertion that only a far-right party can 'save' Germany

Not NZ politics, but not a fan of how this guy is buying his way into politics around the world. Was talk of being in trumps government after donating plenty. Now talking of supplying Nigel Farrage with $100 million for his campaign and now this on Germany

I got nothing
Don’t know enough about him to add my own input, but not sure that automatically makes a far right government Germany’s only hope. They’ve been down that path beforeScholz is a complete and utter imbecile who has continued Angela Merkel's destruction of Germany
Religious extremists on both sides are destroying Europe..Don’t know enough about him to add my own input, but not sure that automatically makes a far right government Germany’s only hope. They’ve been down that path before
Fair enough, but unfortunately politics have put themselves in this position globally by allowing it.Scholz dismisses Musk's assertion that only a far-right party can 'save' Germany

He probably is their only chance. Throw Gt Britain in as well.Musk is an amazing entrepreneur
But any in other realm (politics, marriage, fatherhood) he is just another bum with a big mouth
Absolutely. Politics in general is the problem and it’s divisive format I’ve said before and continue to believeFair enough, but unfortunately politics have put themselves in this position globally by allowing it.
As if the left hasn’t taken donors money, soros, Hoffman, Bloomberg, to name a few.
There’s always ulterior motives, and geopolitical narratives being pushed through by donations, on both sides.
I think it’s only fair by discussing musk, you must address both sides role to play.
I’ve come to a couple of realisations:
We don't want to be run by intellectuals. There is more dead wood there than most groups.I’ve come to a couple of realisations:
The only way forward for NZ is a Labour government run by strong intellectuals. Clarke and Cullen is THE example.
National can never run the country at a surplus as they will be ripped apart for underfunding x,y,z and being nasty. See Keys last year. Finally achieved a surplus and voted out for underfunding health. Even now with a huge deficit they are being mean for not funding everything and anything. I don’t see how National can ever get us out of the crap without becoming too unpopular to the simplistic public.
Labour don’t have intellectuals. They are currently tied in knots with too many lobby groups (unions, minorities, etc). Full of people with little real world experience.
I don’t even know if a Clarke can rise to the top anymore. We want populist people with more PR skills than substance.
Ultimately economic theory is everything and only a few worldwide figures have the intellect to comprehend the ramifications of major changes. I feel change will happen overseas and we will follow suit. Any party here that says they will be transformational without highly intellectual individuals, will ultimately stuff things up they don’t understand (example: the Ardern/ Robertson govt).
USA will be the yardstick. If Trump does okay and gets support that will be the new blueprint for the West. Musk will be sought out the world over as he is the intellect you talk about.Ultimately economic theory is everything and only a few worldwide figures have the intellect to comprehend the ramifications of major changes. Isn't that what Luxon is meant to be?Business people with real life experience and leadership is what we need, without being ideologically driven.
