Skipper Tom Dearden is a lock in the halves, but whether he takes over the No.7 jersey remains to be seen. Jake Clifford will get first crack at partnering him in the halves, but young halfback Thomas Duffy will be pushing for game time in 2025 and could even start in Round 1. Duffy told Code Sports that he is ready to fill the Cowboys’ No.7 jersey made famous by his hero Johnathan Thurston. Duffy was Queensland Cup side Northern Pride’s player of the year award winner last season and was crowned the competition’s best halfback and top pointscorer. “It’s something I’ve been working to for pretty much my whole life now, it’s been a dream of mine,” Duffy said. “I haven’t missed a game in two seasons, so I’ve got a lot of experience and I think I can take that into the NRL now. I’m ready.” Clifford recently underwent a minor surgery on a hernia, which could open the door for Duffy to debut in Round 1 if he impresses in the trials.I briefly jumped into the Cowboys forum & they are all over Duffy, he’s in nearly all Rd 1 lineup predictions I’ve seen. My preference is to go Dodd at this stage & if Duffy or Sanders makes their respective run on 13’s & it’s not due to injuries then I’ll consider them at that point. Sandon Smith a better hooker option.
I think it might all come down to where we get the cheapies in Rd 1 - if there aren’t many then someone like Iongi becomes that much more valuable. Always a balancing act early on with scoring points & generating coin.I'm having a tough time balancing the cap and deciding who to take for my two fullbacks and flex player.
Not sure whether to go for three guns and have to reduce other positions in my squad or.... two guns and a rookie but have a stronger looking squad in other positions.
yeah, and as usual I'll change my entire team as soon as TLT comes around anywayI think it might all come down to where we get the cheapies in Rd 1 - if there aren’t many then someone like Iongi becomes that much more valuable. Always a balancing act early on with scoring points & generating coin.
I would like to upgrade him to Bradman Best but feel Bradman is over priced. Might have to downgrde to some budget playercampbell graham btoken hand
Well that makes Moses SC irrelevant forever.
unless she's your neighbourI have been doing Nearlysport (I think it started with an NZW forum comp 13/14 years ago) and NRLCEO for years. And only decided i had enough time for Supercoach as well 2 years ago.
Saw a meme a year ago or so, that says something like..
"Ladies, if your Husband has more than one fantasy team, he doesn't have time to cheat on you"
The excuses already starting aye. My advice is go with the best players you can come up with - outside of warriors games these players in your SC squad will be your favourite players. Similarly the big names that you don’t have will be the players you despise & deathride - I was absolutely going to town on Moses & Gutho a couple years ago at magic round, the poor eels fan sitting next to me couldn’t understand why a warriors supporter hated his players so much, I had to explain myself after about 20 minutes.Well I keep fiddling with my team. I think I will be wooden spoon this year given my team has ended up being all my favourite players instead of who will carve up fantasy. Oh well. First time for everything.
