These exercises are down here positioned between NZ and Aussie. Thought it would be big news over there with some tensions between the two?You heard anything on concerns from Aussie? Surely our pm is in communication with them
Yep we're assisting the Aus military with surveillance, it's making world news

Going to be interesting to see how the world reacts. People must feeling concerned by now with trump spouting such crazy shit, musk a huge worry and now China making provocative moves
Wonder what the Indonesians think about this provocative behaviour, they're the biggest country in our neighbourhood. I think they adhere to the One-China policy about Taiwan offially, don't know their regional defence alliances.

Not sure. There’d need to something big in it for him personally. I think the most sophisticated in ai technology is huge though, but I’m not sure he’ll openly defend Taiwan like Biden stated he would as president though?
Remember also that untul Biden the US had a one China policy.also the Taiwan parliament is split down the middle over being part of mainland China, 52-48 if memory serves me right.

The way that China expects the world to recognise Taiwan as theirs is reminiscent of how trump is declaring the Gulf of Mexico as the gulf of America and trying to make all abide. Think trump is trying to show they’re at least on par of power if not more powerful, but in one fell swoop China could call back their debt and cripple them. China will soon be recognised as the most powerful country, it’s just by what means they achieve it

Wouldn't they cripple the world economy and crash their own if they called in all their debt though? There'd be hardly anyone left to trade with.

Guess it would depend on what the motive would be? In a conflict you could weaken, but if it’s a war setting it’s not like rules are adhered to. But you’re right in a trade sense

Are we in the winds of war, or are we just over-reacting to an elaborate Vince McMahon production
I really think it’s teetering. A clear lunatic is in charge of America and as much as they’ve had one before, not like this. Changes have accelerated since covid and there’s been a clear shift to being wealth deciding outcomes and the playing field shifting to them receiving favourable results
