General NSW Cup 2024

You look at the photos the other poster just put up
He collided with the tackler with full force in his kicking motion while the kicker was in the air completing his kick. AND HE COLLIDED WITH THE KICKING LEG AS IT COMPLETED THE KICK. The leg of the kicker must be shattered in 1000 places from that hit.
Totally rotten play from Lussick.
But I respect everyone's right to have a different opinion. Let's agree to have different opinions it is hard when they are no proper replays.
He collided with his leg in the act of running....find me a rule in the NRL where you are not allowed to run towards someone and your legs touch as a result of approaching them.

There is no such rule because that is the definition of incidental contact in a sport where everyone runs around towards each other.

I didn't agree with that send off. The reasoning for not showing the replay for it being ugly made it sound like it would be for a leg break and being graphic. Think Scott Prince years ago.

I rewound it to have a look at the two Warriors players just ran through for a charge down. It wasn't late.

The scuffle afterwards was the typical something happened to our team mate so we will push guys around. Lussick's part in that well he was out numbered and getting pushed around. Defending himself is understandable.

I hope he doesn't get suspended for that. The injury was unfortunate. If Egan goes down and we are without a dummy half for that.

I didn't see a punch, maybe a push.
And Illias did a pretty hefty hollywood in the first half to get a penalty. Kind of weird how footy karma is real

He wasn't in the air. I'm not sure what's the specifics of the rules are about legs but I can see why this wouldn't be ok. However it's not late and I feel lussick was going for the ball. They'll know with higher resolution.

There is such a rule
You can't tackle the kicker in the act of kicking. It is to protect our marquee halves from late nonsense. It works in our favour as then no one can cheap shot Johnson and take him out.

What about hoodoos, are they real or have we just been too shit to beat them

He limped off, wouldnt say its shattered

That wasn't late. I went back to watch it multiple times.

It was bang on when he kicked it. Watching the angle that was shown live it was hard to see which Warrior got to the kicker. The still shots make it clear. But like we had to guys pushing through to pressure the kicker. Doing the little things we've wanted Warriors players to do.

It wasn't like the old fashion diving for the legs they wanted outlawed.

Or the more recent kicker kicks the ball and gets pushed over. Capewell was timing this right last week and I pointed out depending on the ref it could be an issue.

It was unfortunate. They will likely find a reason to suspend him, due to the injury. We will probably hear about duty of care. But man it will be rough as he arrived when he kicked it. Just unfortunate.

You do realise that tackling means using your arms?

Jesus wept the fact Freddy did not try to tackle (the act of placing your arms around a player) means he was intentionally avoiding breaching the rules against a kicker.

You can't tackle with your arms a guy as he is getting the kick away. That is all. I am pulling out of this conversation, Let's be pals and join in the match day thread now. Talked this one to death. It is ok we don't have to agree on everything.

Mate he didn't fooking use his arms...ergo he did not make an attempted tackle....therefore you are wayyy off beam on this one Wrighty.

Another angle of it. Ilias has reportedly broken his leg.

Man....this is making me so angry....have you ever in any of your lives seen a player sent off for accidental touching of legs?

Freddy was floored coz he got kicked in the guts....then that fatshit Souths kient comes in And starst the hoohah that forced the yellow shirts to make shit up coz the Warriors were being too aggressive in a hand bags no punches push and shove for Aussie sensibilities....pussies.

I'm surprised at how many comments there are trying to defend the contact. Of course its unintentional but when you are putting kick pressure on you must have a duty of care never to make contact with the legs like that for the very reason we witnessed. It was horrific and hopefully Lussick who looked remorseful never puts himself in that position again.
