Sam Lisone screams future rep lock to me. He's got the perfect mentor to learn under...

For mine, our first 17 next year looks like:

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. David Fusitua
3. Konrad Hurrell
4. Solomone Kata
5. Manu Vatuvei
6. Tuimoala Lolohea
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Jacob Lillyman
9. Isaac Luke
10. Ben Matulino
11. Bodene Thompson
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Simon Mannering

14. Thomas Leuluai
15. Sam Lisone
16. Albert Vete
17. ???

The only role/position that I'm not sure of, is that last bench spot - it could go to any no. of Ikahihifo, RFM, Peyroux, Sione Lousi... But it's the only position I think we actually need to bring someone in for - IE, that there is no one player in our squad that automatically fills that hole.

It would be Ben Henry. He is and always has been absolutely loved by Warriors management.

I'd have Laumape there over Fusitua. Whether you play Laumape at centre or wing, and Hurrell at centre or wing - I think it gives us a bit stronger defence on the right edge. the idea of Fusitua and Hurrell defending next to each other kind of scares me a bit.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Leuluai started at 6, Lolohea on the right wing outside Hurrell... but I prefer Leuluai at 14 myself.

That's probably the team I would pick, although maybe Laumape in the centres (and not 100% sold on Fusitua's defensive attitude?)

The no. 17 should be a Tapau/Pritchard/Beastwood signing if at all possible.

Yes, a great team. Tho I would have Fish over both Fusitua and Laumape. But Laumape perhaps over Kata, who frankly isn't gelling with Manu. And Sione for the bench spot, as cover for all the forwards. Capt. Mannering is our cover for the backs.

The idea of Loo-loo-eyes coming in at no.6 next year scares me (I wish his wife had an excruciating case of homesickness). I would really like to see Tui there. I respect Cappy greatly, but when he's tinkered with the halves it's gone wrong, big time. Twice. For many games this year we had the highly-structured Chad-to-the-left-Shaun Johnson-to-the-right-and-so-it-shall-be. That just did not work and we all know this. Last year our season was ended early when the then new but match-winning Chad and Shaun Johnson combination was flung aside to fit Loo-loo-eyes in the team, at no.6. That also simply did not work and we all know this. Why does anyone think it will work if we try it again? I mean, hello? :sour:

Id be happy with either Ngani or Fusitua - I just went with Fusitua because of the extra height, more of a target in the air.

I like everybody's teams but Toafofoa Sipley is a star in the making and will be the last piece of the puzzle. He will become our impact forward off the bench. I don't even want him blooded this season. I want a proper off season and a nines debut like our other young stars. Then a place on the bench and we go from there. I havn't seen a talent like him from the forwards since Nelson at the Storm. Anyone under rating him have not seen him play. Simple as that. Future star.

Going with the players we have currently signed.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Wright (the peoples champ)
Lolohea
Kata
Manu
Leuluai
Johnson
Lillyman
Luke
Mutts
Hoffman
Thompson
Mannering

Hurrell
Lisone
Vete
Lousi

Shaun Johnson and Thompson should have some sweet combs by then, and Hurrell can come on to that right edge for the last 30 for some devastation (and can cover the back line).

No to Sandow. There is a reason Souths went better without him and the Eels keep dropping him.

No to Thomas at 6 for us next season, been there, done that, did nothing other than get Lord Gnome of Howick MBE semi aroused for the first time in a very long while

Which by default leaves Lolohea and his short comings will be exposed quite quickly, ie: organizing, kicking game etc (which will develop in time but he is not ready for first grade 6 in my opinion, he has done well filling in at fullback but struggles get his timing and run our simple out the back play off Shaun Johnson)

So unless we get a Mitch Cornish or Chad decides to stay I think we are in for another season of what ifs. I am also not convinced that Shaun Johnson can lead us to a Grand Final. He may win it for us when we get there though.

A prop and a 6 is needed for us next season to be a chance of going deep in to the finals.

I reckon Thomas will be our 14 next year.
