Great game everyone, well done wrighty for coordinating it all, huge effort!! All great teams.

wizards rage
A real Kiwi presence across the team including some of our all time greats. Lolo and Menzies are in my opinion two of the 6 best back rowers of the last 40 years, Lolo prob number 1! Your halves pairing complement each other perfectly.

Off The Bench
Probably the two greatest captains in league history backed up by some of the toughest players of all time - Thorn, McCracken, Matai never took a backward step. Not convinced about Davies at halfback & Locke is one of the worst cases of wasted talent I’ve seen - he could have been anything.

Hardyman's Yugo
Not all will appreciate the incredible talent of some of the UK based players or those from the 80’s that make your side. Brentnall at his best and Steve Rogers were pure class & I wish I’d seen more of these sorts of players in action. Also any side with the King is dynamite (other than the Seagulls).

Naumaifooty
Massive attacking potential with that backline, Thurston, Folau, Hayne & Johnson would be impossible to contain, although your fullback option is a gamble. No nonsense forward pack that possibly just lacks a touch of flair... but then who needs it with those backs!

bringmethehorizon
Love this team, the combinations would be awesome - Jones & Lockyer, Lyon & Renouf, all bring different styles that would compliment each other perfectly. Your props are on the way to being all time greats - in fact I reckon Papalii is already there.

Wellington Warrior
Picking up Buderus in that bonus round was massive for your team, probably the best value for money spine in the comp - Mullins at his best was incredible!! I’m also a huge fan of Bobby Lindner, he was massive for Qld in the early 90’s. A lot of class across the team.

Chchfanatic
Sticky is my favourite player of all time, very jealous, and again a perfect combo with Kenny! So much speed and class in your backline and who didn’t kinda love crazy eyes Watmough.

PullinTeeth
No nonsense front row, unbelievably brilliant back row, arguably the best player of all time in the 7 jumper and probably the two best wingers of the last 40 years!! Only letdown is Hohaia at fullback, good enough player at club level however not in the same class as some of the other fullbacks.

Defence
Immensely jealous of Lazarus at prop and Boxhead at hooker, both these players were high up my hit list when the comp began. Langer was too stressful watch when your team played the Broncos, such a handful close to the line. Graham, Nikau, Miles, Morris are all time greats in their positions and Inglis could one day be an immortal. I ranked this team number 1, epic side!

You would have adapted. By the second round most contestants came to understand each list was largely luck of the draw and that you couldn't sit on a favourite player coming up later. To use a footy expression, the contestants had to play what was in front of them.
Had they been able to wait for the inevitable arrival of player X the game would have been too easy and prescriptive. Hopefully they way we ran it favoured contestants who had vision for the type of player profile they wanted and an outstanding knowledge of the depth of the inventory of players available.

Wouldn't change the approach when we do it again.

The first three lists were picked with the random number generator function in excel (with a little bit of doctoring)

Only the Bonus Santa round was hand picked and hence was a star studded list. I nearly put Daley into that Santa round but on a whim left him out as had already picked 33 others. Bit of fun to leave out one or two guns as well perhaps...

The draw was good... added unpredictability into it all.

I found they are all great teams - evenly matched. Each team had an area of strength and in all teams you could see there were players that you could have upgraded given more money and luck.

It’s interesting how certain players everyone likes but other players we individually favour for different reasons.

I could honestly see in straight matchups that no one team is a certainty to beat every other team due to differing strengths/ weaknesses.

Very interesting to see everyones different perspectives on a team
Especially early on with selectors concentrating on second row
An the spine ..or front row .
I like the fill ins it's quite easy to see who we all built our teams around .
But the cheapies was an eye opener .An nice to remember some of the forgotten
Players. . Who are part of rugby league history ..
Only disappointment was lack of north sydney bears with only Peter Jackson
