General Why has this team fallen off a cliff?

Heard that back in the day Elijah Taylor got shit for doing extras after training. Tall Poppies? “You think you’re better than us bro?”.
well if you look even deeper ( know of white players if they excelled in the gym thery were told not to use it ) by people including ex warriors players

The fact they havent played at home for nearly 3 years just shows you what home ground advantage shows you how important that is to the players and staff. No other team in the world has had this distraction in this pandemic.
our record at home had been just as shit though

What surprises me is after all of the fails over many years..None of the major sponsors have departed. It must mean it's still economically viable to sponsor and play for this club because we have a whole country exposed to advertising dollars.. no matter what the performance...Unless Vodafone did a Jason Taumalolo and signed a 10 year deal.

I’m sure the club is profitable in pre-COVID times so the lure of a wooden spoon wouldn’t change anything

I had the opportunity to chat with a very accomplish rugby player who has had some interaction with the Warriors over the years.
When pressed on it, his observation has been the club didn’t have a clear identity.
Many posters have made the same observation especially around playing style.
Defining and embracing this will go a long way. Stop trying to be the storm and start being the Warriors …. The 02’ version!

Interesting read about 'wasted plays', I.e if you drop the ball on the 4th tackle, you've essentially lost, or wasted the last 2 tackles in the set.

Warriors have lost the ball on the 4th tackle 30 times this season, meaning we've done our standard 3-4 hit ups in the set, meaning we haven't got to our attacking end of set plays.

Pretty telling - a team who rarely get to their attacking plays struggling to score any points...

4. WARRIORS — 32.73 per game

The Warriors attack has been poor in 2022, resulting in the club’s 32.73 wasted plays per game.

Now the Warriors will make a timely return to New Zealand and improvement is expected after spending an extended period in a makeshift Redcliffe base.

The Warriors stunted attack is highlighted in their fourth tackle error count.

30 times Stacey Jones’ side have made an error on the fourth tackle, right when teams need to penetrate the line or force a repeat set.

Being an interim coach is a pretty tough gig. It's highly unlikely things will turn around.

When we sack coaches our previous interim coaches get listed in articles like full time coaches with their poor records listed.

Now that stat has 30 times Stacey Jones' has made an error on the 4th tackle like its all his doing. He's inherited the mess. I know its a matter of conserving words to not be long winded but it comes off funny like Brown gets off scot free.

To be fair Brown also wasnt dropping the ball.

We have fallen off a cliff as we don't seem to sign the elite NZ youth players.
Given a choice a phenom 15 year old will sign with the storm vs signing with the Warriors.
Secondly the Warriors rather than not signing anyone have a quote to fill so they sign second and their tier talented 16 year olds. These players all have the same talent as Chanel Harris-Tavita or Jazz and that is if they do the hard work and reach their potential.
We should apply to the NRL and at a minimum have exclusive catchment over the Auckland youngsters. I don't see how we are ever supposed to produce any local talent if we have to compete with talent scouts from 16 other teams.
We should sign Elite youngsters or none at all.
