General Who should be captain next year?

Tohu Harris Harris for me.
Captains set standards, lead by example and have to be a straighty 180 imo.
Leadership on the field is your half-back hooker. Like running plays and field position stuff.
Talking to the ref is overrated imo. Barely effects anything.

I still think Shaun Johnson over Tohu Harris Harris but wouldn't mind Harris as an off field co captain.
And agree with your second point and think it's mainly overrated due to a very small number of captain's i.e Cameron smith etc and that probably was helped by the team he was playing for .

Leading by what exactly? Top tackle counts and meters aren't enough, can he keep the team on task? Does he have the guts to tell it like it is when the chips are down? If so then sure.

That would be a sight I would happily pay money to see.

Needs to be someone that people hold high respect for and knows how to lead. No one in the squad meets that criteria in my books, so POS pls go find us a captain!.

Walshy captain in a few years. Not now. Maybe towards the end of his current deal. Addin Fonua-Blake is the guy really but whether he has a captain's temperament is the question. Beast leader through his actions but calling refs regards probably isn't the go lol. Whether he'd even want that responsibility is another thing.

Interestingly Tohu Harris was voted 3rd biggest sledger in the players poll... so the what we see in the public of Tohu Harris is quite different to the on field Tohu Harris...

I’m assuming that was the players taking the piss. Not sure how seriously they take those polls- u only need one team of players all agreeing to vote Tohu Harris as biggest sledger & he’s in the top 3.

Shaun Johnson is hands down the best choice, has been for 6 seasons or so.
He's in the thick of it directing the team, is ultra competitive and has a fourth brain. He's also a talking half and should be respected as the best player in the team unlike the lack of respect previous rosters had for him..

I mean I was joking around, obviously he is too young and I just never want him to leave us, so I'm all for guilting him into staying.

In saying that he was yelling at the team to get to the kick in like his 2nd or 3rd game, so he's not short on confidence
