I guess a high majority of Warrior fans on this site will be from Auckland, but where are you from and are you involved/support your local League?

Me I'm in Palmerston North and involved in Manawtau Rugby League..

Funnily enough I'm from Wellington... and this place takes up more than enough of my time!!!

Originally Hawkes Bay, Then Wellington for about 8years and now Supporting from Sydney for the last 3 years.
From memory asked a similar question a couple of years back trying to see if the Warriors were more Aucklands team rather than NZs team and I think tajhay mentioned majority of traffic for the site was from outside of Auckland...

You watching the juniors while Ata Hingano and Bradley Abbey were there? Those kids were absolute stand outs then...

Live now just north of Manchester, England. Nearest Super league club are Salford Reds. Born and grew up in rural Cumbria, followed pro and amateur league a lot when I was a lad

From the mighty Waikato originally. Now in Orclund. Have only ever and will only ever support the Warriors in NRL. Prior to the NRL/Warriors was the Bulldogs. Also followed Otahuhu back in the day.

Shane was a very fit player, good trainer.

Yep, he really stood out in that great Richmond side. I think he was the only white guy, half the size of most his team mates but he really drove that forward pack around and they listened. Kiwi's played him on the wing against Aussie at least once and I think he marked Grothe. Pretty unfair . Great player.

Back then most clubs had a few white guys;), he wasn't the only one for Richmond. Stan Martin, the player agent played in that side also Cameron McGregor (he who dared stand up to EW over the move from Carlaw Park) and the Dryland brothers.

Cameron McGregor (he who dared stand up to EW over the move from Carlaw Park)
He would have stood up against Ian Robson, Peter McLeod and Auckland Rugby League themselves. Not Eric Watson...

Just to clarify, Peter McLeod was the chairman of the ARL and started the Warriors going.

The ARC sold the idea of MSS because it was a way of paying for the white elephant is had become after the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Cameron McGregor was not Chairman at that time, I don't even know if he was on the board. Also Robson came along after MSS had been selected.

The disagreement with EW came after he took over the Warriors and the ARL of which Cameron was then Chairman floated the idea of them going back to a boutique Carlaw Park. MSS mainly had temporary stands and was already getting tatty and the crowd numbers had crashed.
