NRL Teams Wests Tigers

Hughes added so much excitement to the Warriors , especially in comparison to the likes of Keith Quinn .... best quote was, “ sensational”
I agree...but he was a Bulldogs fan as well...that wouldn't have suited Packer who was a Souths fan, as was Rabbits.

Last Sunday night, Radio Sport had quite a long interview with Rabs. During it he dispelled the myth he was a Bunnies fan and that he only got the nickname because of his surname from when he used to do radio commentary in a small NSW country competition. He confirmed what many Australian fans have thought for a while.... he’s an Eels fan.

I didn’t know until now that Eastlake died this year so RIP fella

The last time I heard him would have been the weightlifting at the Melbourne Commonwealths

The other memory I have of Tigers is Ellery Hanley taking a head shot in the GF from persons unknown (Terry Lamb being the prime suspect) in the first of the back to back finals Balmain lost

Those new jerseys look really good.

Interested to see how Cleary leaving impacts the guys he brought to the club like Matulino and Packer.

Read somewhere that Packer was pretty pissed off about the whole thing.

Originally I thought the punishment was way over the top, but the fact that they tried to cover it up and then filed false info... throw the book at them!!

I wonder how many other CEO backsides are twitching atm? Interesting fiddle, claim you’ve sacked a bloke but secretly pay him for a non existent job

They were desperate to get Farah's huge salary off their books. I know the Johnson saga hasn't been handled the best but at least we avoided something like this or Johnson having a sulk up on the scoreboard on his last day.

Have to laugh how the club are arguing how the CEO has been respectful etc towards the NRL over the last 3 years. So if you bend the rules on one incident it's all good if you behave after that.

Yeah this Farah thing is very interesting. I know there was a rule where clubs could only have one or maybe it was two club ambassadors. But I'm not sure if there was any limit on how much they could be paid.

It's a pretty classic way to cheat the cap. How would the NRL ever find out if somebody close to a club gave a player a load of money (or a house/boat/business) a few years after their retirement?

Obviously the Wests Tigers wrote something down which was found.

Uncle Nick would never do something so foolish.

Makes you wonder if this is a systemic problem and more players are involved.

Underhand payments go on in all forms of business.

Just look at some of the tax avoidance schemes that some scocer plays have been caught up in. I.e. Messi

I know it doesn't take much to upset Robbie Farah. Now he might walk away as he's been dragged into another issue.

I can understand partly where he is coming from. But even if everyone knew about it, it is widely known you can't offer players post career jobs as it is against the cap rules.

Also seems to be an Aussie thing when someone gets caught cheating. It's unfair he's a top bloke.

Yep it’s like the Sharks fans crying hard done by now, “what about the domestic abusers” seems to be their response rather than accepting wrong doing
