For a long time, I've believed that the "Sold Out" sign needs to go up at Mt Smart when just the regular addicts like myself turn up and the crowd's around about the 5000 mark.

Anything more than that and ho boy, this is gonna suck! is my inner thought process.

It's like a band that kills it in front of 15 or so semi-interested punters at some pub in Auckland, but get them to Spark Arena as a headline act in front of several thousand and they bomb majorly - forget the words of songs, play out of key etc....

What is the general philosophy for every other team, including the Tits, against the Warriors ???

Stay with them until the last quarter & they will eventually break ... they always do

I just don't see this 2018 version of our team going out like that, especially not for our first home game of the year

Last week we ventured all the way to Perth where we stood toe 2 toe & went punch for punch with one of the biggest packs in the comp & we eventually ground them down & broke them to such an extent that their pack alpha, Burgi Snr, spat the dummy big time, unprecedented really

Although the Tits did well last week to come back against the Raiders they were getting absolutely reemed up the middle by Canberra no vasoline style in that 1st half until the big green boogers ran out of juice

It was also Taylor who laid on most if not all of their tries & provided the majority of their kicking game, who does that for them today if he doesn't actually play ???

Elgey ??? ... most likely ... but he is currently a class below Taylor

Cartwright ??? ... ahhh ... that would be a resounding ... no ... with a capital N and a capital O

For mine this game is a huge opportunity for our team to further build upon the foundation they laid last week by showing genuine consistency in attitude, effort, application & execution in all facets of the game

It's also a huge opportunity for the team to put the the absolute shits up the rest of the comp by showing all of them that this is our house & if ANY team comes here not entirely willing to embrace the grind for the full 80mins then we will put a physical & mental hurting on you that will make you fear ever coming back to fortress MSS

A fit, focused, confident & consistent Warriors side who can win away & are dominant at home is the stuff of nightmares for every other team in the NRL

They know it, we know it, everybody knows it ... time to make it a reality men ... cos none of us are getting any younger

The past is the past & it can't be changed so I prefer to live in the present & look to the future ... otherwise why bother

Go The Warriors!!!

Right, time to head out to MSS. Was going to arrive just before kick off but im fizzing too much about todays game so will go check out the ISP game as well.

Hoping for a win today, doesnt matter by how many. But in the words of SK just hope they 'dont just dip the f'n toe in and they go all in'.

Bring it on and enjoy the game all!

Beware of Konnie Hurrell . :nailbiting:

Titans aim to end Warriors hoodoo
The Warriors have won 13 of their last 14 matches against the Titans. Titans coach Garth Brennan is determined to snap Gold Coasts' losing streak against the Warriors when the two teams face off in Auckland.

The Warriors have won 13 of their last 14 matches against the Titans dating back to 2011- the lone win over New Zealand occurred on April 25, 2015 when Gold Coast won 32-28.

Last week, the Warriors claimed their first ever win in Western Australia when they beat the Rabbitohs 32-20. It was also their first win over South Sydney since 2013.

Knowing the Warriors ended a losing streak of their own, Brennan thinks his troops can end the Titans losing hoodoo one at Mt Smart Stadium.

"The Warriors went over (to Perth last week) and hadn't won over there and came away with a great win," Brennan said.

"Everyone is talking about how we've only beaten the Warriors once in the last 14 appearances. Well, maybe it's our turn to get rid of a monkey off our back."

Brennan was impressed with the describing it as the "best 80-minute performance" by the Warriors In their 23-year history.

could today be the day we did it in perth.
I have to disagree with coach Brennan on this one. I still serenade the mrs with the 2011 semi-final vs Storm on in the background. That is and will probably ever be the best 80min performance from the Warriors, unless we win the GF ofcourse...then I may have to think about swapping tapes in the VCR.

lol what a crock o' shit. Watch out Warriors, Brennan is a master bullshit artiste and a lot smarter than he looks.

Looking for an improvement on defence especially on the left edge. Improved discipline gave away far too many penalties last week. Chance to continue the momentum and goodwill from last week, don't blow it boys.
We did give away too many penalties but they were because we were committed to winning the wrestle and pushing things as close to the line as possible in that regard. At least it was not the stupid penalties of old

The reserves are losing against the Dogs. He'll of a lopsided penalty count .

Wind starting to get up. Cloud cover good for swing bowling. Prolly drizzle a bit later. Isp were winning before I arrived. Now down 14-8. Ground not as good condition as previous seasons-that said, the standard was high. It's St.Paddy's Day, loads of people walking in. It's great to be at the footy again

The ISP look had it. I dread to think what the tackle and penalty counts are. They still look the fitter side too.
