Warriors vs Storm Gameday Chatter [Round 14, 2021]

At this time of the session I think the reality of where we are at starts to hit home. No more chasing rainbows just hoping for a good performance from the lads playing a top team.
I think if we keep them 12 or under a reasonable result and maybe the week off has given us a chance to freshen.

Reasonable expectations, I want a win, if we go down I will reflect on what sort of performance it is. If we want to support a top team then the expectations have to be high.

Our front, middle and back leaders in Addin Fonua-Blake, Tohu Harris and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck are together again, if the team steps up with them there is no reason why they can't topple the Storm.

Feels like round one again.

Excitement returns. Even if it is against a team that could very well flog us, who cares.

One of our key assets is back, It will be interesting to see how carefully they manage AFBs minutes, I am guessing the trainer will keep a running dialogue checking in.

No Walsh, that is around eight to ten points in attack missing.

The way to compete today is really simple, tackle and hold the ball.

Otherwise the most likely outcome, is that we will hand a big win to the Storm on a platter.

My personal hot list of things to see today goes like this:

1st. Addin Fonua-Blake nervous viewing, just don't break anything bro, you are our season.

2. Chanel Harris-Tavita and Kodi. Much discussed, today they have no Walsh to pad the performance of the spine. Lets see if these two can organise a team and what our attack looks like after they have had two weeks of trainning to run moves.

3. Kosi. Brave dude. I would have told the coach I am not ready in his shoes. I honestly would. I will be watching his wing between me fingers.

4. Rocco Berry, in contrast to Union preparedness and Kosi's club league schooling....Berry is the better prepared of the two to play league. How damming is that as an indictment of our local game.

5. Kane Evans, Yes Kane. He has been playing well, the missing ingredient appears to be conditioning. The break would have done him a lot of good.

6. Siro and Curran. I lump these two together, because collectively I want to see whether their style of game, is superior to having Jazz in the mix. So both better be disciplined and have a high world rate if they want to push Jazz down the pecking order longer term.

This is my viewing list and what I will focus on more than putting my heart on the line hoping for a win.

Enjoy the game everyone. If we do somehow manage to be within 6-10 points in the final quarter of the match...It will be a moral victory of sorts in my books.

I just want us to learn how to be in these games till the end.

If we can keep it close we have a chance of winning, but we need to keep eyes on Munster and Hughes. Especially Hughes. He's doing well this season.

Sorry but Storm by 40 points.

Our outside backs will be be mauled to death by Olam and JAC on one side. All our attacking points have largely come through Walsh who isn’t there today. We might be lucky and get one of those barge over tries from Egan passing to Ben Murdoch-Masila or Harris, but can’t see our halves creating anything.
Is that you Nathan Brown?

All true bro. Which was why Brown threw Walsh in against the Storm with Kosi and Berrry in the first movie.

Nothing to lose.

Can't see anything other than a defeat sadly, and probably a heavy one.

They will be loving the fact they can go top with a win given Penrith were looking invincible 2 weeks ago.

Picked a Janfin.... could be closer than what we think, a week off can do wonders.. hoping Brownies playing mind games and brings Addin Fonua-Blake in at the last minute.. even if its for a short spell.
However, the Storm still look too good for us.. just hope the pts for/against dont get away on us... But will be great if we pull this off or run them close.... let's gone....
