So Kodi on the bench. Do we think Brownie will give him decent minutes - or is it there just in case Egan breaks down and to play 10 at the back end of the game?

He needs to show something to earn his next contract / move you’d think.

Although reading this write up (now out of date) on the Warriors website for today’s game you’d think he was having a total blinder of a season.

Well, "taking it to another level" could be true. The peice doesn't go so far as to quantify how good that new level is, you'll notice. Or say that the new level puts him amongst, say, Nathan Cleary, in terms of performance and consistency. lt could be read simply as the NRL's "website game promotion writer" person's way of saying "Kodi Nikorima is less shit than he was last season."
Not that anyone on this forum feels that to be true, but you could take it that way.

I've given up on predictions except to say that the Warriors may win. Or lose. Or draw.

Even with those options, I wouldn't be burning my life savings on the game today.

I am excited for the gme given our team. However the Panthers excel at teamwork and that is a big worry for me with our new combo's.

I am interested to see how we go with Jazz starting and big Eli off the bench. I though the big lad had been coming good over the past few weeks.

I love roger as a player. 100 per cent effort and passion.
But his passing game aint great.
Worries me Roger at 6.

100x better than Sean O'Sullivan, Walsh and Kodi on D

FINALLY a #6 who is happy to run and run STRAIGHT

He’s more than capable of passing a rugby ball. It’s a little disrespectful to say he can’t pass. He doesn’t need to do anything fancy when passing to Walsh or Berry or Aitken. Simple stuff.

And he has strong legs. Bet you he can punt that ball further that Kodi and Sean O'Sullivan if needed. He use to take our kick offs and line drop outs before Walshy showed up

That Panthers forward pack is scary.

To have a SOO rep sitting on your bench in Liam Martin.

Smh. Easily the best pack in the comp.

Their go forward is the reason why Cleary and Laui are so good. Holes everywhere to take advantage.

No worries about Rogers kicking game, with Townsend and Walsh there we have two good kickers.

Im worried that now we have our best team on the park, there really is no more excuses. Yes you can argue Roger at the back is better with Walsh in the halves, but they’re going to alternate and any time Walsh isn’t defending in the front line is a good thing.

This team, IMO is largely going to be close to the top team we have for the next 2 or 3 years (give or take 3/4 players) so I’m hoping even if we don’t win, we show enough that with time, combinations and a bit of luck with injuries, we could be dangerous in a year or so

Yeah hard to argue with that. I do think that a forward back with Addin Fonua-Blake, Lodge, Tohu Harris, Katoa and Ben Murdoch-Masila (when playing) has enough fire power to match it with any team in the comp though

100%

But they need time to gel

This panthers pack is the same one that knocked us out of the finals in 2018.

Kikau was a standout that game and I remember Leota giving us so much trouble earlier that year…

Kicking and passing won't be apart of Rogers job description today. He'll be there to have his hands on the ball as often as possible, chaddy will take care of the rest. Roger gets the quickest play the balls and always gets his nose through the advantage line, which will create opportunities for guys like Walsh and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak. His strength and footwork will be a nightmare for any opposition in the middle of the field. And don't underestimate rog's ability to pass at the line, he can do that.

Imagine Lodge, Addin Fonua-Blake and Tohu Harris bending the line on tackles 1,2 and 3, fast play the ball with Roger steaming on to the ball and drawing defenders, before passing it out the back to Walsh

If Roger takes a few runs in the first few sets they’ll have to keep him contained which will hopefully give a little bit more space out the back for the others.

Can’t wait!

In theory it looks awesome doesn't it. I'm a bit concerned it's a bit late as they haven't had time to gel the combinations and new positioning but yeah I'm more excited than I should be considering only a week ago I thought we were dead in the water for this season! (We probably still are, but we can keep the faith lol)

My only concern with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck #6 is knowing when to pass vs when to run.

Awareness is key. He can sometimes only see one direction, which is straight ahead without looking at the options around him.

Definitely a different mindset to playing wing and FB. Those positions are made to finish. Put your head down and go.

#6 is there to organise and create. Great challenge for him.
