My way to look at this season, is that we are fielding somewhat of a Reserve grade side, a lot of young guys...so I am leaning towards going easy on them.

Not expecting any wins. Kinda at that place where a narrow loss or any win is a bonus.

Not much chance for disappointment then. Lets go guys, your best shot is good enough for me.

The game model needs to be thrown into the bin. Dismantling this culture of being close enough is good enough is going to take a lot of time to eradicate. I fear we will never see the Warriors style of play around 2002/2003 ever again. That is the "game model" we should have been tweaking if anything. We came close to it again in 2011 and should have been building upwards with all 3 of our teams playing in the GF. Now look at where we are. The best we can hope for in coming years for a trophy is if the Dolphins make it there on Grand Final day.

Just hope they dont get admitted into the NRL comp in 2023 as is rumoured. Because itll back to square one....not like we havent been there before....

Fucking sad state of affairs.

Does anyone else get the shits when SK talks about ‘game model’ and how the term had infiltrated general league terminology.

It was this fixture last year when I realised the Warriors were fucking horrible, probably the first game I didnt swear at the TV and was resigned to the fact there wasn't alot of hope for our attack.

I can see the Cowboys playing at 5/10 and the Warriors at 8/10, and us still losing by 20+.

I sort of feel your pain, which seems to be that if you have to watch the Warriors lose, can they please lose in an exciting way...It's kind of unfair to pile the blame for that lack of excitement on The Four Coaches After Cleary. And frankly, even Cleary - actually, especially Cleary - wasn't much into the razzledazzle shit (let's not delude ourselves that Bob Temanu, as the tactic was christened by someone on here, was sexy. Effective, often but sexy? Hardly ever. Also, look how tackling's so different as are some of the other variables. Watch the 66-0 game against the Rabbitohs from 2006 and ask yourself if, crap Broncos aside, that would happen now with gang-tackling, two refs etc.

Then just let yourself remember that the style of play around 2002/2003 didn't actually get us anything. Looked sexy when it worked, but.

Got us finals footy - grand final - preliminary final over 3 seasons, are you saying you wouldn’t take that now? Cause I would and that footy was much more enjoyable to watch than the drudge we have been putting out for oh so long now
