Friday games are absolute boom or bust for me.

If we win, I get to watch all the other games of the weekend with a smug look on my face, safe in the knowledge our two points are in the bank, the pundits will have a few nice words to say about us and that the process is working after all.

If I lose, I have to watch all the other games of the weekend and ponder how it is that every other team seems to make scoring tries look so easy, why every other team seems to have at least one genuine speedster and a handful of mongrel forwards, and why the hell I still think the process is working!

Having said that, I have a good feeling about tonight and think we might pull off the impossible - scoring at least one try

The game model needs to be thrown into the bin. Dismantling this culture of being close enough is good enough is going to take a lot of time to eradicate. I fear we will never see the Warriors style of play around 2002/2003 ever again. That is the "game model" we should have been tweaking if anything. We came close to it again in 2011 and should have been building upwards with all 3 of our teams playing in the GF. Now look at where we are. The best we can hope for in coming years for a trophy is if the Dolphins make it there on Grand Final day.

Just hope they dont get admitted into the NRL comp in 2023 as is rumoured. Because itll back to square one....not like we havent been there before....

Instead of waiting for a premiership well that dream ended long ago I'm hanging in for a new coach and new gameplan. I will get more joy out of the after game comments.

I'm going to cheat and say the result will be anything from Cowboys by 8 to Warriors by 6.

I sort of feel your pain, which seems to be that if you have to watch the Warriors lose, can they please lose in an exciting way...It's kind of unfair to pile the blame for that lack of excitement on The Four Coaches After Cleary. And frankly, even Cleary - actually, especially Cleary - wasn't much into the razzledazzle shit (let's not delude ourselves that Bob Temanu, as the tactic was christened by someone on here, was sexy. Effective, often but sexy? Hardly ever. Also, look how tackling's so different as are some of the other variables. Watch the 66-0 game against the Rabbitohs from 2006 and ask yourself if, crap Broncos aside, that would happen now with gang-tackling, two refs etc.

Then just let yourself remember that the style of play around 2002/2003 didn't actually get us anything. Looked sexy when it worked, but.

Personally, I hate the defeatist attitude this team plays with. We don't play to win. We play not to lose. You won't find any winners with that attitude.

Remember back in the day when the team running out gave you goosebumps and you would have extreme case of nervousness about what was to unfold. Now it's just meh. 6-12 points down and you know we won't come back from it. Back in the day you would be on the edge of your seat knowing we had a chance and players would refuse to die without giving it a go. We would give it a red hot go. Nowadays...

I miss those highs.

Cows by plenty for me. In fact it's got so bad I'm recording the game and will watch the replay if we manage to pull off the win. Got friends here for the weekend and can't be bothered putting up with the ridicule if we watch it live. All the weeks in lockdown have made me totally intolerant.
