General Warriors SG Ball 2023

Just trying to highlight the risks of promoting plsyers and coaches to higher levels too quickly. The development pathways have to be there.
Yup i was just saying that more than half the starters of our last team have transitioned to first grade as you asked the question.

They really could develop a youtube arm for the club. If we're looking at u17's u19's u21's and NSW Cup you could definitely get a subcription for 59.99 a year or even more I reckon, Probs a 2.99 a week deal.

Definitely a lot of potential in the lower tier media content.
We were lucky the Souths guys streamed the first SG game, very grateful to them for that commentary, really enjoyed that day. The costs of setting up pro camera crews at some of the suburban grounds would be pretty prohibitive though I think, as much as I'd love to follow every Warriors game in all the comps.

One thing to be aware of at this point is that the three wins we've won so far have been against the bottom three teams in the SG Ball comp. Next weeks's game against the Knights who are 3 and 1 and then the Roosters and along with the Panthers should give a better indication of our team's fortunes for the season.
Could be a towelling tbf, just beat the same souths side that we only just beat, by 40 points.

They have 3 Warriors academy players from last year in their team. But also looks like they have a fair bit of Flegg experience in their team

Be a good experience for them.

Hoping to see some shapes and structure to develop with our spine, off that one game I saw we seemed to only have the ball dropped on the inside to an angled running and nothing else going on, actually that is not true we had a bit of a short kicking game.

Not to fussed how we go against the top side first time up, assuming we will be ready the next time the sides meet, especially since we have a team that is capable of playing finals.

2 teams we beat are last and second last.

A few bumps in the road will do our guys good. Got to learn to get back up after getting knocked down after a loss.

Anyone know why they had to travel to Newcastle on Gameday not enough prep for the boys should have been there a day before

Would be my guess.

A post said from Auckland then a 2 hour bus trip to Newcastle disappointing if that's the case
That's crap the club has to sort this shit out, it's not fair for them to have this sort of travel before a game

Looks like the team is getting monstered atm, this time we don't have the excuse of travel as the game is at Trusts Arena. 46 12 right now with a few minutes to go.

Yeah the highlights are pretty brutal, alot of soft tries

Team shake up probably didnt help, they dropped Piliu and then ended up chucking him on the wing due to an injury

Was at the game, it honestly looked like men playing against boys. The Roosters team was on another level, especially in the halves. Lots of Warrior turnovers thanks to loose carries combined with the Roosters defenders targeting the ball.

Their props were huge. Delasalle Va'a, who the Roosters poached from Broncos as a 15 year old a few years ago, was listed as 6'4 and 115kgs at 15 and looked like he was 6'6 and over 120kgs now. The other starting prop was a big unit too.

Ratu had a bad game but I thought our backs looked a bit faster overall than the Roosters backs. Ralphy Sio had some strong carries and scored a good wingers try. The other winger was getting schooled though. The boys had a lot of scoring opportunities that they couldn't convert into points which is on the playmakers in the team.

The Warriors boys are spinning every pass, maybe it's come from their school rugby background. It stood out to me when the dummy half was taking fractionally longer to spin pass the ball to his runner that was only 3m away from him and the runner was having to reach back to catch the ball.
