This forum is confusing, most of the time people around here are complaining that "we cant sign any stars, we are always massively under the salary cap, no one wants to come here, Dean Bell should be fired blah blah blah" then we throw the cheque book at a superstar player and complain that we're spending too much on him. What do we want? A star player to come here on the cheap? we're dreaming. Its one or the other, a star player on a massive contract or none.

Some of you guys are acting like its your own money lol, let the billionaire owners worry about the $$$

I can't see a businessman like Watson making the excuse of too much drink. The world these guys live in is all about dinner meetings and functions where alcohol is served.

A function for Watson is a normal day in the office, I just don't buy the too much to drink line as anything other than trying to cover his arse.

I understand that it well in advance over the $1.5m per season.

If Foran signs with the Warriors it will make him the highest paid player in NRL history take that as fact!

Want the best players, at a slightly less than market value, to play at their absolute best, every game, never get injured or suspended, and don’t wear ugly jerseys or appear in takeaway ads either. And maybe see if they can make friends with the refs too. Not too much to ask for!

If the warriors have caught onto the cap loopholes, and its essentially coming out of the clubs or owners pocket, but not entirely under the salary cap, then by all means, $9M player wage bill, whatever you like, keep it coming Eric...

I like the idea of signing Foran though we may lose Loloheia as a result and people seem to think hes pretty good. Foran and Shaun Johnson could be a combo for club and country for the next 7 or 8 years, thats Smith/Slateresque

We would lose a whole heap of players if we sign Foran for that much $1m is too much I'd offer $800 no more or like someone said earlier we can get a top name hooker prop and some with $1.5m by the sounds of it Leuluai would go back to Wigan in a heartbeat Friend will be gone after this season so we def need a frontline hooker with Havili as backup

I have no problem with the size of the offer, if the Warriors are serious about becoming title contenders it should be going to James Graham is all.

If Foran has been offered one and a half mill, then good on him and good on the Warriors for outbidding rivals. This is the marketplace that the NRL has become, top players demand top dollars. Look at the Tedesco and Fifita original deals this year. Considering we can't get too many third party deals then we have to use Salary Cap.
I have no problem with us spending our cap, that is what it is therefore, the NRL gives us the money to spend on players and we spend it as we see fit.
This is proactive recruitment, that exact thing people complain about, top players cost top money.

As excited as i was about the Foran signing, for 1.5 million i don't think it is feasible. Short term it sounds great having a player like that in the club but we are going to create a world of issues in terms of re-signing players and making serious plays for other guys in the next 4 years. Firstly Shaun Johnson, hes going to want an upgraded extension in about two years which he will deserve and i just hope we don't lose him. Secondly guys like Hurrell will be moving up big time on his next deal, and then young talent like Lolohea i would hate to see move on and become superstars elsewhere.

If its possible which i believe the Warriors think it is then go for it but im nervous it may have some serious effects on the guys already at the club with that kind of money getting spent. BTW bullshit that triple m has said they are re-signing there is no way Foran will turn this offer down and Watson isn't a idiot no way that tweet was sent without confirmation hes coming.
