Train is the size of a house these days - I played club footy with him, he was a beast but his propping partner the Tank was equally as devastating. Train made a come back this year , he's got to much weight to lose , 180 kgs he weighs now. Both guys blew there knees and never found there rhythm again to play.
Small world bro. I think I know who you are talking about.
Used to see him working in the youth justice side.
Very smart man. His technical knowledge of propping matches his physical ability....I hit him up when he said he was a Storm supporter / League man.....I remember him blowing people off the park.
I learned a fair bit from that one conversation about the game.

MANLY chairman Scott Penn wants to give concerned Sea Eagles fans a $6.6 million Christmas gift — Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans.
Penn has formally opened negotiations in the club’s desperate $2.2 million-a-season bid to retain the star halves.
And Penn told The Daily Telegraph he would be working 24/7 to have Foran and Cherry-Evans locked up long-term by Christmas.
Penn could become Manly’s Santa Claus.

Foran and Cherry-Evans, who look set to confront one-another in next weekend’s Four Nations final in Wellington, are preparing to be bombarded with offers throughout summer.
The Test pair come off contract together at the end of next season. Their overall deal could be as much as $6.6 million over three years.
Cherry-Evans has been linked to Brisbane and Parramatta, Foran to New Zealand Warriors and Canterbury.
The pair will attract around $1.1 million a season on the open market, Foran may even demand more.
Penn was upbeat about his club’s chances of keeping the pair and hoped to have the deal completed by the end of the year.

Guys, I have confirmation from a supreme source the Warriors offered Foran a contract so big that neither Manly or Bulldogs can match it $ wise.

I understand that it well in advance over the $1.5m per season.

If Foran signs with the Warriors it will make him the highest paid player in NRL history take that as fact!

I'm not disputing the fact we have or we haven't... but if the warriors have offered that much - they're idiots. that's well over 20% of the cap on ONE player. that's double what Tomkins (our highest paid player) is on...

the warriors did inquire for Watmough and Matai, and Mateo did go to Manly.

This source is from within the Warriors, Foran has not signed but this is fact, the contract is the highest ever in the NRL, if he signs he will be the highest paid in the history of the game and if he turns it down, he will be turning down a record contract and that should be in the news also.

and if he turns it down we will know for sure that this club can't attract top echelon talent.

Another source from within the Warriors, the co-owner actually, publicly tweeted that they had actually signed Foran, Then proceeded to correct himself, saying he had too much to drink and got it wrong.

Yeah, I think its safe to say we are all sick of this he-say "supreme sources" crap.

Us poor fans have been subjected to getting our hopes up year after year, being lead to believe we are close to signing world class talent and ending up with nothing. Yet another rumour we must take with a grain of salt. Its getting harder by the day Ill tell you...

I doubt the $1.5mil. IMHO, Johnson deserves to and shall be paid higher than Foran if he comes. Johnson will want an upgrade and then we'd be spending half the cap on just two halves. We'd have to be buying a lot of yachts, and perhaps Princess can have a new car for each of his egos ;)

Unless the cap goes up a lot in the next year, I think that offer is way too high for him - even in NZD.

I can't see a businessman like Watson making the excuse of too much drink. The world these guys live in is all about dinner meetings and functions where alcohol is served.

A function for Watson is a normal day in the office, I just don't buy the too much to drink line as anything other than trying to cover his arse.

Wouldn't surprise me if Foran had said yes, but not actually scribbled his name and Watson jumped the gun a little

IMHO if we can afford to get Foran, we should. Manly, a club far more successful than us are willing to pay him whatever he want because they value his contribution that highly.

His conbination with Shaun Johnson in the Oz game was for me nothing short of Jizz-worthy. A spine of TL, those two and Pomkins is amongst the best in the comp. Add in Mannering, Hoffman, Konrad, Lillyman and Manu and we have a formidable team lacking only a form revival from Ben Matulino or a collective journeyman blitz from him, Matagi, Rapira, Lousi, Thompson, Seb, Henry, Laumape to be serious contenders.

Sure we need the game plan and teamwork to success in the real world, but I don't see how getting him if we can afford it has any downside apart from lacking a form big boppa. Again Ben Matulino can be that man, he just needs to get back to his best.

Not believing a single thing that Mr 'Watmough is signed/Vatuvei will be a prop in 2015' is saying.

If in the unlikely event that what he is saying is true (and therefore unicorns are real), then it just screams of recklessness in offering a half 'well in advance of 1.5m a season'. I simply dont think our club is that inept at utilising/managing the salary cap.

no downside?
Look at the shit Tomkins is getting because he apparently can't make a line break on a kick return. Not worth the money
What about the annomosity it creates when other players aren't getting anywhere near that and we can't retain other players. Look at Manly unloading their team. How do you feel about losing Lolohea because he can't crack a halves position or other teams will apy him more?
What about having no room to manuvere for players we actually need like Props and hooker?

Will Foran really provide us with that much point of differnce?
