Thanks Tajhay for posting the list.

That is a world class list of targets Including Props and hookers.

People keep posting ' we need a big prop' with every signing announcement when in actuality the Warriors have had a go ( When Sam Kassiono came up for market we went for him too ) and the reality is we are lucky to get any player really because we are like Canberra.....we are a destination most NRL players Shudder / laugh at.

Yes in NZ the weather sux and the chicks are bigger than Sam Kasiano but in Canberra your captain is Terry Campese and your coach is Ricki Stuart, that's pretty much the equivalent to an STD!

That's a good list of targets. We could take the Ricky Stuart positivity view on it and that they didn't sign with us but they re-signed with their current clubs.

Good day to start a new recruitment thread with it being the first day of pre season where all teams are thinking positive for the new season.

That question mark for Foran should read. Club is interested in him like many other clubs, speculation rising after drunken tweet by club owner.

Hopefully this thread is a bit more successful then the last one. Otherwise talk to you all in about 185 pages from now.

Quality list, but unless we pick up one of the elite level players on it, you'd have to say our strike rate has been fairly poor.

Less forwards on there than I'd like to see. We should be targeting a couple of the better fringe NRL props and some ESL props too... whether contracted or not. I'm sure there'd be some peasant-poor ESL club keen to offload us an experienced brute for a couple hundred k release fee.

Also, link to current roster:

Corrections welcome and encouraged.

He re-signed with Warrington for a few more years recently. Saw an article about him recently so was keen to see how he'd go in this tournament.

He would be a great addition to our squad. But don't think we could pry him away from Warrington.

Penn has come out and said the club will throw 6.6 million of cap to sign DCE and FORAN long term before xmas. To me it looks like a attempt to save face with members i don't see how it could possibly be feasible to even entertain that commitment let alone the fact the Foran doesnt like DCE. I think he will leave the club the only question is where and i bet it is to the warriors.

As I said in the old thread. They offered Foran the Million bucks he wanted. He's staying put. From the sounds of it, we may have lost out on all our attempts. Unless we're going all out for a super league star the shop might be shut?

Nahz

tad off topic but i remember a big bloke running around in Bartercard for an Auckland club some years back
forgot the name & club ... of Samoan or Tongan ethnicity....all i remember commentators reffering to him as the Chooo chooo train

man could he get around the park & make his tackles for his size & had some endurance~played prop......always gained good meters...

anyone recall this guy?..just wondering what happened to him, seems another who fell by the wayside in terms of talent & potential

If they were 3 year contracts it’d be $1.1M a year each.

Has any team had that 2 million dollar halves before? They’ll have a team of nobodies around them once Lyon, Matai and Stewart finally break down.

Probably a new contender for the salary cap shenanigans crown if the new ownership spends like they say they will.

Train is the size of a house these days - I played club footy with him, he was a beast but his propping partner the Tank was equally as devastating. Train made a come back this year , he's got to much weight to lose , 180 kgs he weighs now. Both guys blew there knees and never found there rhythm again to play.
