Wouldn't mind him coming if the price wasn't too expensive otherwise we would get another Manu situation with a sizeable chunk of the cap towards an aging back.
People need to realise the Folau that may come here isn't the same that left league 7 years ago, he isn't hugely setting the world alight in union (despite what the ARU PR machine may say)

No way Folau plays wing! For starters you put the better player closer to the ball on the principle he'll make the players outside of him better, secondly Folau is better than any of our current centres and Fusitua will usurp Kata this season which would mean Kata would never pass to Folau instead of Vatuvei?!
Absolutely! The way I see it you only get in Folau as a replacement for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. You dont have a million dollar man on the wing nor centre. A player worth that much cant be restricted to only half of the field.

Most likely a BS rumour but one that has tenuous legs based on his fiancees future and his recent trip here with Manu Vatuvei...

Far North Forever

We can afford Folau for sure, we just bring Tutaia in as a secretary/ ckeaner and pay her 400k a year and he comes at 250k boom done. Oh and Maria must wear her short ass dresses to work and there is a fan cam at her desk.

Got to love the Aussie media:
The RLW site have The Mole announcing Folau to the Warriors, the NZ Herald then report what The Rodent said and now FoxSport are saying it started here and is being led by the NZ media.
Started here? As in this site?

The news we get nowadays is so inaccurate due to it being so fast moving and people needing to get stuff out there. Articles get published with grammar mistakes or incorrect facts all of the time.

Is this site a legitimate source as it has Warriors in the URL? I'd be worried as all it would take is someone to say they talked to <Insert Warriors player A> and he was told by one of the coaching staff that <insert fantasy signing> was on the way for a 3 year deal for $900k. Then another poster comes and mentions he spoke with <insert Warriors player B> and some of the backroom staff to confirm and we are legit signed him just waiting on a few details.

Both of these rumours are pretty thin at the moment.

Folau could be interested due to being mates with a few players and it could mean his partner could carry on her international career. It still depends on if he wants to quit union and come back to the NRL. He may be looking at returning to the NRL due to less travel, spend more time with his partner etc. Although joining the Warriors would still require a fair bit of travel.

The Johnson rumour sounds like he has an offer which he would get all of the time, mentioned it and that is all of the information out there.

Sorry - should have written it better - no, FoxSports News were saying it started in the NZ media when, in fact, it was the NZ Herald reporting on what the Mole had written.

But, just in case they do get their info from this site, has anyone heard that there's a big split in the All Blacks and half the AB's want to sign for the Warriors? That's why Johnson is looking at playing in the ESL.

That should get those Aussie rumormongers (sorry, journalists) going!!!!

JD and Shaun Johnson management appear confident that Shaun Johnson will resign with the Warriors.

JD is also still confident of getting Foran registered.

NRL: Warriors in talks to re-sign star halfback Shaun Johnson, hoping Integrity Unit approve Kieran Foran's playing return

The Warriors will meet with star halfback Shaun Johnson's manager later this week and continue talks to secure his playing future beyond this season.

Johnson is in the last year of his current deal with the Warriors but on Friday will resume negotiations that began late last year to extend his time at the club he joined as a teenager in 2009.

The Warriors left the Kiwis playmaker to focus on New Zealand's Four Nations campaign in the UK at the end of last season and were happy to wait until he returned from his offseason break and had time to settle in at training under new coach Stephen Kearney before reopening contract discussions with his agent Peter Brown.

"We are working through the process now that Shaun is back," said Warriors managing director Jim Doyle.

"Stephen has over the last couple of weeks and over the next few weeks been spending a bit of time with Shaun and we'll now start working through that process with Peter.

"Shaun's been fantastic for the club over the years and we see him as a big part of our future plans. We want Shaun Johnson at his best more consistently and we think that Stephen can help him do that."

The 26-year-old is certain to be in line for a major payday but is among a host of other big name players that have held off from committing to a new deal with uncertainty surrounding the value of next year's salary cap.

This year's cap is set at A$7 million and could rise in excess of A$10 million next season and may include a marquee player allowance, with the NRL and the Rugby League Players Association still to agree to terms under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Johnson's status as a free agent beyond this year has fuelled speculation recently that he was considering abandoning the NRL to make a cross-code switch to English rugby.

Doyle and Brown both dismissed the rumour and the two parties are confident he will remain at the Warriors long-term.

"Definitely not," said Brown in regards to a possible code-switch.

"We were in no rush to do anything pre-Christmas. We did have some initial discussion but we always had an agreement we would follow them through in the New Year, hence we've got a meeting on Friday.

"We'll weigh up what the Warriors put on the table and he'll make a decision from there.

"There's nothing untoward. He's had options in the past in regards to rugby union, not only in Europe but also in Australasia, but he's always indicated he doesn't want to do it at this stage and I don't think anything has changed."

Meanwhile, the Warriors are hoping to meet with the NRL's Integrity Unit again in the coming weeks and receive clarity around when they can expect new recruit Kieran Foran's one-year contract to be registered.

The NRL has sought assurances on Foran's mental well-being and that he no longer associates with controversial gambling identity Eddie Hayson.

Doyle added that Foran had done nothing wrong when he left the game of his own accord last May when he was granted a release by Parramatta on compassionate grounds, while struggling with mental health problems and issues in his personal life.

Nine months later the Warriors are confident he has sufficiently addressed those concerns and therefore believe he is ready to make a playing return.

"We're still working through the process with the NRL," said Doyle.

"We've met with them a couple of times and it will probably be late January or early February when we'll meet with them again.

"That will give us a very good indication of where we are and we would certainly see that there's no reason why he shouldn't be registered."

Cowboys race the clock to snare Gubb
By The Mole
January 21, 2017

THE Cowboys are still looking for a front-rower to replace Test forward James Tamou and have their sights set on Warriors cult hero Charlie Gubb.

The popular Gubb wants out of Auckland, believing he’s not getting enough game time, but he’s under contract for another year.

The Warriors are prepared to let him go, but only if they can get themselves a front-rower of similar quality.

Gubb’s offside with club officials and if the trade can be done, they’ll release him to the Cowboys – but time is running out with the new season fast approaching.

Do the cows have any Props worth taking?

diehard

How could Gubb say he's not getting enough game time, it's a new season with a new coaching staff? In saying that, do we really need him? He'd be on the bench at best, and share game time with Sipley, Afoa, and Gavet, and any other young props coming up. And he's 26 years old, no spring chicken anymore. I say let him go, but drive a hard bargain to get a prop who's solid and can potentially replace Lillyman after next year.

Probably a few as good as Charlie. They have some backs that would be of interest for a swap. I know Matulino is injured but I'm not sure that is a disaster, maybe a good chance for younger props to step up. Charlie Gubb doesn't offer much other than enthusiasm, no offload or footwork. Can't see that changing. Only reason he is here is because he is being paid peanuts.

Player Swap similar to the dogs deal Gubb for either Patrick Kaufusi or John Asiata would be fair need to get something back especially since already down an prop for the near future

Who said he is offside with club officials and why?
Moley said it in his article so probably BS. Moley doesnt have any intel whatsoever within Warriors HQ so we can call that BS easily. Wasnt this article posted by RLW last week or the week before? Sure Ive read this exact same one earlier.

With Ben Matulino injured Gubb isnt going anywhere...
