Sorry to get the thread back on topic, but ME's sacking has to be seen as the ultimate 'putting on notice' for the players imo. If they had concerns about the coach that they wanted sorted out, management have basically yanked him out of the picture so the players can't use him as an excuse. The ball is now firmly in the players' court - put up, or fuck off.

Yeah, now that the likes of Johnson has developed a good defensive game, teams will target Friend to make easy metres in the middle before spinning it wide where Manu isn't.
