Unfortunately, he was at top speed and Mateo had to slow down to give him the ball.

It's fair to say he wouldn't be playing if Thomas was available - I always expected him to be NSW Cup level for this season at least.

Having seen the outcome of 1 game with the warriors put on notice i would now love to see them put on notice for the entire season. Its been to long since i have seen the passion and desire coming from the team as a whole.

They got the win, well done. Particular thumbs up to the forwards for putting in work. But it was far from perfect, and we are still 1 from 3. 33% will not get us anywhere near the finals.
The coaching staff cannot let up and allow the squad to relax and assume they've magically turned the corner. We need the same effort and BETTER every week until the end of the season.
At this point in time I still want numerous players released and replaced at year's end.

ET on radiosport atm saying training is tougher at Penrith and there is less of a family atmosphere there, more training hard and expectation from others for you to train hard. No runs on beaches, more hard training in hot weather.

The training doesn't bother me as much. Every player says that when they go to a new club. Do the same thing for 6-7 years, the moment you change it's going to feel different/tougher.
What does concern me is that family atmosphere, and I've mentioned it before, it doesn't do a good job of promoting a competitive edge within the squad, let alone against the opposition. Feels too much like a really organised muck around game at the family barbeque.

What's the name of the coach at Penrith, shame we couldn't get a taskmaster like him, that said that quote re "I've never trained harder" is on the first page of lines to use at a new club or during pre season.
That said the Bulldogs built a dynasty on being a family club.

From what he was saying it all seems to be part of the same problem. He was trying his hardest not to say anything bad about the Warriors but he was pointing out the differences. I dont recall anyone saying that about the Warriors.
In fact when Friend got here I remember he commented on the 'Family' atmosphere, music in the sheds, and a lack of talk on the field
The way I see it the family atmosphere leads to less expectation from players towards other players which in turn lowers effort and performance
i guess thats why so many people were pleased to see Chad give Friend a gobful for his garbage pressure pass.

The crack up about that to me is he actually delayed his PTB to give it to him. No pats on the head there.
I don't think those two points can be separated. IMO the family atmosphere causes a lack of competitive edge, and that lack of competitive edge is what results in players not pushing them and each other as hard at training to improve themselves and the team.

Tbh im algud about the whanau thing, storm do it. They even take all the players wives out once a month to wine and dine on the club, saying goes "happy wife, happy life".
What needs to happen is a more professional approach fron each player, rumours have it is the big 3 run all training sessions. Now thats the benchmark and what we should strive towards

Why would you clock someone? you'll have no energy left to attack, jeepers you need to get over it, friend is by far the best hooking option at the club hence he's starting, if you get a chance watch the cowboys first set of six when friend makes a cover tackle for two of the warriors players, he's a machine an 80min hooker that allows more rotations amongst the forwards or allows someone like Konrad to come off the bench who would otherwise just sit there.
