So six guys go sit at the pub table. Waitress comes along and says, what'll it be boyz?" Manu says, "six red bulls please." Waitress says, "don't you want something to drink, maybe a beer or some spirits?" Hurrell goes, "oh no, we're Warriors,. we have to keep in shape. The waitress leaves to get the Red Bulls, and Manu pulls out his prescription pills. "Look guys, I've got these pills left over from doc, who gave them to me when I told him I had a tired hammy." Manu passes out the prescription pills, and his brother brother Konnie goes, "thanks Manu, you really take care of me. I've been playing on the B team, and I need to recover from last nite's game." The Red Bulls arrive, and everyone toasts Cappy, with a laugh.

Anybody else agree we could drop this thread?

Whether we agree or disagree with what happened, how it happened or why it happened-

It happened, the Management did what they believed to be a fair punishment and nothing anybody says will change their mind and they won't be bringing it back up, sort of becomes a mute point really? IMO

This thread wont go away until all 6 players retire. This dumb shit will haunt and follow them for the rest of their career and even then it'll still be talked about. For all the good things Manu Vatuvei has done during his career he may very well be remembered mostly for this one moment of weakness...

Are you sure it wasn't???

As I've said before... that's the ENTIRE point of this. We don't know. And given what we've been subject to in the last 5 years in terms of team "performances", it's all too easy to fall into speculation - and these guys completely brought it upon themselves.

Interesting how Manu goes from naughty to needing help when he mentions having a mental health problem. Now he's a victim in need of understanding.

Understandable though. The whole nations media focus in on it intently. Its everywhere. Missus is getting it. The kids are getting bullied. He's getting trolled on social media.

Id be embarassed if my family knew about it. The nation. Suicidal...

its not so much the pills and whatever its the general attitude toward what they are doing. they're not winning. things don't look like they are going well on or off the field. why isolate yourself as a group, take some stupid pills and then have a half assed attitude toward the team and club? Its such a stupid way to go about it. TALK openly, honestly, create change positively. Then again, I haven't got a season ticket this year - so at least as a fan I'm not losing out financially. Even the odd game I was going to see this year I think I'm gonna pass on that thanks.

Radio Sport, namely Kent Johns- who commentates every home game and talks to all the players, was the one who got the inside word that there was actually no meeting. If there is doubt about this so called rumour, maybe the non believers could call radio sport when Kent Johns is on and he could confirm it to the people that believe there was a team meeting

Meeting, review, I think we're dealing in semantics here. You can have a meeting to have a review on one thing or a review on the previous meeting held to discuss something else.

Kent: There was no team meeting. A meeting and review are different.
Warriors: There was a meeting to review the Storm fuck-up. We also call those meetings video review sessions.

Anyhow, isn't the relevant point being whatever the dingdangdo happened Wednesday, the Naughty 6 turned up at Mt Smart 2 or wherever less than 100% ready for work?

A meeting and a review are different. Seems like we are debating words here. After 2 weeks it seems we are scraping the barrel here on what kicked all off. You lot need to be cheered up a bit. So while we are on meetings here is one for you.

The directors at my company had an hour long meeting last week. Nothing out of the ordinary there as they usually have a quick catch up before we have our normal staff meeting. The outcome of their hour long meeting was.........................we weren't going to have a staff meeting as they had nothing to talk to us about.

I was going to ask about having a review due to the amount of meetings we have been having but I might us for last weeks episode straight out of a Dilbert cartoon to be reviewed first.:p

Now on this whole pill saga. Hopefully the players realise what they did was stupid and not just regret getting caught. Hopefully this is a catalyst for change through the club and hopefully it starts with a some better performance this year. I'm not confident of the second part but getting a quick turnaround means its not a long season and we are waiting for next again.

I'd like to worry about next year when we have some signings announced, a few players announced as re-signed or on the way out. Then we can get really excited in December and January.......................again.

Not sure if that is a ;) or :( or :). I'll leave that up to you the reader.;)

Meetings, videos, cartoons, porn, what difference does it make? The naughty 6 were supposed to attend, and some of them did, some fell asleep, and some gave it a miss.

Warriors Orange Peeler
Shaun Johnson claiming rumours that he reported the Six are untrue...

NRL: Warriors hit back at 'circus stories'
5:52 PM Thursday Jun 2, 2016

Senior Warriors players have dismissed rumours of disharmony and division within the team and slammed "garbage" media reports for portraying the club in a bad light.

In recent weeks the under-siege club has been beset by rumours of dissent, and depending on the what version you hear or read, the Warriors are a team divided along racial lines and unhappy under the leadership of captain Ryan Hoffman and beleaguered coach Andrew McFadden.

Star halfback Shaun Johnson has also been the subject of unfounded talk that he is offside with teammates for alerting club management to players abusing prescription pills and energy drinks.

The trio has slammed the rumours as false and described inaccurate reports throughout social and mainstream media as "circus stories" serving only to undermine the club.

Despite team morale taking a battering after losing three of their past four games and the club enduring one of the darkest periods in their 21-year history, the playing group and management insist they remain united and committed to working together to dig themselves out of their lowly 14th place NRL ladder standing.

"They're coming from external sources," Hoffman said of the various rumours. "They're certainly not coming from within the club. People from outside this club are only speculating on what's happening here.

"It's a very harmonious environment. We've had a good chat to each other within the club and I can categorically dismiss any of those rumours and they have no basis for facts whatsoever."

Last week the Herald reported a private player's only meeting had seen younger players voice concerns around their ability to speak freely with senior leaders, and while praising McFadden's coaching ability, wing Manu Vatuvei admitted some players found his hard-but-fair and no-nonsense style confronting.

Those admissions led to further suggestions that the club was gripped by unrest, but McFadden says his team is simply unhappy with their current predicament and suffering a lack of confidence after a difficult period that began with the embarrassing 42-0 Anzac Day defeat to Melbourne.

"Look we're certainly aware of the rumours and all of the noise in the media but I can say that there's no rift," he said.

"There's a lot of disappointment, there's no doubt about that, but there's no rift. And we just need to win some footy games and show that style of play that we're known for."

Meanwhile, Johnson angrily denied he had 'dobbed' on his teammates and slammed reporters and columnists for giving life to speculation without offering players a chance to respond.

The 25-year-old admitted the rumours had filtered through to the Warriors inner sanctum and some of his teammates had asked him about their validity before he put their concerns at ease.

"That is just another one of those circus stories where there's no truth to it at all," he said. "I don't know if there was a senior leader that went to the coaching staff but I know it wasn't me. And I've told the players that have asked me that and that was ages ago.

"It's been dealt with, there's no split in the group. Everyone's one, we're all equal. We enjoy being around each other.

"Of late there's been too many of those stories where 'there's a divide in the group', or 'players aren't taking to Hoff (Hoffman)'.

"And that's the thing that probably gets under my skin the most, is that the media will keep writing those stories when they just don't know."

Johnson acknowledges the entire Warriors organisation is feeling the pressure and knows only improved on-field performances and results will ease the strain.

"It's a stressful time for everybody involved with the Warriors. But, look, we've been through these periods before and we've come out (the other side). We'll just keep working hard and we know it will turn for us."

If this were any other club, everyone putting the boot and publishing ‘garbage’ media reports, you’d see them fire up on the weekend and do something about it, prove ‘em wrong.

You don’t have to win to show you’re at least up for the fight.

Glad to hear Hoffman and Shaun Johnson feel the team are united. They certainly havent played that way in a long time though have they. Hope Shaun Johnson plays a blinder, shadow steps everyone and scores 3 tries himself. Go Shaun Johnson!

No disrespect to your post - but I'd rather Shaun Johnson play like a controlling organising half. I'd rather see him with 4-5 try assists, sound kicking game, defensively solid and a solid, controlled victory than see him shadow stepping everyone ;)

Of course I'd take the shadow step Shaun Johnson's performance as well. I'd just prefer outcome #1 :)

True. Well let's see the rest of them give him that unity on field this weekend to do that

Also - Shaun Johnson should just say 'no comment' to anyone who asks anything about it and distance himself far far far far away from that negativity - as I understand it he's never been a problem child for anyone in any team. Shits me his name and even hoffman's is connected in any way to the original events

Lol Shaun Johnson. If the club were upfront and not playing around with the truth, these sorts of comments wouldn't be coming out.
Oh and not playing like a bunch of tools helps too.
