Any news on the hardest preseason eva!! Anyone seen if the guys are looking fitter....

There were pictures in Sydney papers of Sam Kasione who went from Bulldogs to Melbourne and he looks like a different person

Hope to see a similar improvement in the Warriors
He looks like a Samoan Todd Byrne!!! Wouldn’t be surprised to see him hit the ball up and be snapped in half!!!

Seriously though will be interesting to see what impact the weight loss has on his game. It was his weight and power game that made him a giant.

Polynesians carry a lot of muscle, which weighs more than fat. If they have managed to get the fat off him he will still have plenty of muscle and be faster with better recovery than before. Polynesians do weights easily but they don't need those workouts as much as the Caucasians, they need the aerobic work.

Those pictures of him are a credit to how hard the Storm train over the pre-season. I do however recall there were pictures of him last year. having lost a lot of weight for his wedding.

I said the same thing last year. Will he play bigger minutes and how will this change his game. Maybe the question this year is will keep the weight down throughout the season.

Always interesting at this time of year seeing the changes in some players. Hopefully we hear about the Warriors looking well conditioned and impressing everyone.

I was wondering if I had imagined that!! I was sure I had seen pictures of him looking lean last preseason. But I thought it must have been a dream as he was chubby again during the season.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but was just looking through the Skywatch programme and there is a behind the scenes show about the Warriors Pre-season, I'm assuming it will be similar to the one about the Hurricanes that they had either last year or the year before. Will be very interesting viewing to say the least.

More to do with his diet changes than training

Looking at Sky Guide at present, looks as if there's no coverage of any pre-season games - except for delayed coverage of a Rd 2 Super League game which might be the Wigan v Hull game being played at Wollongong Saturday. And of course the Charity Shield will probably be live, but can't see anything about the Warriors as yet.

Warriors v Storm pre season, Thurston Smith Testimonal and Charity Shield will all be shown on Sky. There was an ad on sky the other day.

Short vid from JTS' youtube channel. It's a good watch (only 5min) and he shows/explains a few things that some of us forum members might not know about professional footy life and pre-season ie the club provides meals, junior players need to arrive earlier than senior players etc. If you like it definitely subscribe to keep up with his videos.

Just heard a replay with this week’s trail captain Mason Lino on Radiosport.

For a change, none of the players showed up overweight - the fear of Corvo arriving seemed to scare them.
He’s picking Perham to be the best young player this season.
But, most importantly, SK has told the team to play with more freedom and less structure this season. He still wants a high completion rate but with a return to more traditional Warriors play.

The Process is Dead.... Long Live Warriorball!!!!! I hope!!!!!

I've always said it's a balancing act - I'd rather 65% "Warriorball" 35% "Completion"(around those levels anyway) because neither extreme is actually very enjoyable to watch. Razzledazzle where you give up intercepts, knock-ons that opposition get and race 30m to score etc actually is just as bad to watch as 93% completions and no off-loads.

Remembering that we'll come up against teams who's style of play somewhat nullifies "Warriorball" so we'll have to play ugly. See Warriors 6 Panthers Warriors 13 in 2011 IIRC for an example of the Warriors playing comparitively ugly, unsexy league and winning.
