General Warriors NSW Cup Reserve Grade 2023

Both these centres don't look too far off first grade ....be good to see how they go if they get their chance.
For mine, I'd prefer we didn't rush Leiataua into first grade. He has a bit to work on with his defence (e.g., missing one-on-ones), so he will be much better for the full year to develop consistency in NSW Cup. Unfortunately Berry and Vailea didn't have that opportunity, so are developing on the fly (some pros, some cons). Volkman is the same, he is already looking better for his time in NSW Cup.
Leiataua, Berry and Vailea are fighting for the two centre spots in 2024 - a good dynamic to have in the squad!

Enjoyed that game and we at last have some serious depth developing.

Power game is a thought that springs to mind and these guys have it in spades. What a pack. The future looks solid.

Couple of things were noticeable to me. Post contact metres seemed huge most tackles, not sure if this is coached with leg drive or just the running style of this next generation.

Berry straightens the line and draws defenders, nearly always space for his winger when the ball goes that way. Throws a few decoy runs in as well.

Volkman not the finished product yet but the kid has some smarts, can lead the team around the field and can kick bloody goals.

Great win against the leading team

Halasima first player brought up from SG ball. He's gotta be the favourite for that last development contract over Stower-Smith etc.
Did he have a rats tail? Number 20 something? He was pretty powerful, if it was him.
