General Warriors Magic Moments

Since the Warriors are playing the Roosters this weekend. Does anyone remember the game in 2007 the 31 all draw. How the strip on Steve Price in golden point time wasn't a penalty I'll never know.

Some great nostalgic moments here ... my personal all time Warriors magic moment has to be the very first game in 95 against the Broncos at Mt Smart

I was lucky enough to attend that game in person & even though the Warriors lost, I have never really witnessed any sporting fixture that matches it for sheer balls to the wall intensity since, from the mega hyped build up to the actual game itself

That includes the 2011 RWC Final which i was also lucky enough to attend in person, that fixture also had a mega hyped build up & was intense at fark, but the 95 debut of the mighty Warriors still buries it for mine

That whole night in 95 was just something else to behold & remains firmly entrenched in my mind as one of the most seminal magic moments in the entire New Zealand sporting landscape :D

Haha more than anything else, I remember that game because of Freddy up in the coaches box, eating his muffin - the commentators were taking the piss, saying he looks more like a fan than a coach!

Monty's a deadset savage & a man most definitely NOT to be fucked with, but my all time favourite Warrior laying the samcketh down moment .... Kevin Campion

The look on Webcke's face is priceless, I always imagine him saying afterwards ...

"Bloody oath Kev ... your an ex Bronco & Queensland team mate & a proud Australian to boot ... why in the blue blazes would you deck me mate"

To which Campion responds in that gravel laden voice of his ...

"Cos I'm a fucking Warrior for life now ... bro" :D

Kevin Campion taught us how to beat the Broncos. It was all about manning up and showing them who was boss. Once the team knew that we never looked back. Legends like Petero and Webke were just another player...

The video sound quality isn't the best and hopefully I have the right game. The try looks like the one I remember.

The Storm had a lot of hype behind them especially with their home record. Olympic Park was seen as a fortress. Not for the Warriors and of course being the Warriors they left it late with a cracker of a try to win it.

The try is around 8:30 of the video.

I was hoping to see this game either on the DVD set for the 20th anniversary or on Sky with the 20 year matches.

Also love hearing the old music....................cause that's my team.:D

Rovelli at halfback. Ropati at 6. How in the world did that team beat the Storm!

Somewhere out there is an image of Sonny Fai in full flight scoring against the Bulldogs with a couple of players left on the ground in his wake. One of them is Sonny Bill Williams who's looking up with a bit of a "where the hell did this bloke come from?" look on his face. That moment always sort of resonated with me. Almost a passing on the baton, changing of the guard moment and you knew he was destined for something big.

Used to have it as an avatar but i"ll be buggered if i can find it anywhere now.

One of my personal favourites... Kevin Locke 2010 vs the Roosters. Was at this game down here in Chch, it was absolutely pissing down, down by 4pts and Locke almost cuts his body in half on the goalpost. Really put his body on the line to get the W for the boys

That delayed put-down by Witt still makes me worried, despite seeing it dozens of times and knowing how it ends.
