Patrick Elia has next to nothing of league experience but he had plenty of class about him playing rugby. Yes it was just first XV rugby but he looks like a smart kid who could learn and he has all the natural ability in the world.
Judge him at the end of the season not the start
He is the brother of Elia Elia who has played hooker for Manu Samoa. I’m sure there has been a couple of brothers play for burnside in the division 1 comp in chch

Whatever happened to Kane Telea, still around?
Unfortunately he was just not that good. He struggled even in the U20's.

Still can't believe they selected him in a first grade trial as an 18 year old a couple years ago. One of the most bizzare developmental moves this club has made in recent years. Especially for a club that has done well recently with the development of Hingano and Papalli, and are on the right track with HarrisTavita, Perham, Soosemea etc.

Vodafone Junior Warriors will be searching for their first win of the season when they face the Sydney Roosters in their Jersey Flegg Cup match at Belmore Sports Ground on Saturday.

They were poised to pocket a point when they drew level with Penrith 16-16 late in last weekend’s encounter only for the Panthers to take victory with a last-gasp field goal.

My source for information about the juniors and the junior development squad decided to leave the club at the end of last year and concentrate instead on his local club. This means the info I used to receive on this side is no longer coming so I’ve got a couple of questions.

My friend thought that Tavita was one of the best hookers the club has had coming through the junior ranks. Because I haven’t seen anything of his play this year, what do you think of Tavita? Could he make it in the Nrl?

Its tough to get info on this team since the competition isn't televised, even though they've lost all their games I've been hearing that there are a few standouts so far.

Tom Ale is a new guy from Rotorua Boys who has been running riot from centre, played Chiefs U18 and won NZSS league Nationals MVP last year, could be a very very good prospect.

Some may have seen Tyler Slade debut last year as a 17 year old. Apparently he's seen as a future club captain and has immense talent at the lock position. He did preseason with the first grade squad alongside Harris-tavita, Vuna, Soosemea and Izzy Ogden.

Lotu Inisi is consistently their top metre gainer and Ive been told that he could grow into an absolute monster and he already has a huge motor for such a young prop. Huge wraps on Lotu.

Kayal Iro is 4th on the competition try scoring list and is going well on the wing (son of Kevin Iro). High profile St Kents signing Dahkota Taimani is in line to make his debut this weekend off the bench, so will be interesting to keep tabs on him.

Vodafone Junior Warriors are coming off their first win of the season after accounting for Wests Tigers 26-10 last Saturday.

They take on the winless Manly side, which fell to a 14-22 loss to Wentworthville last weekend.

Returning for the Vodafone Junior Warriors is prop Soane Hufanga.

Tom Ale will play NRL, what I am finding interesting is the guy is basically a prop yet the Warriors are playing him at centre - in fact he destroyed NSW with the secondary schools kiwi team playing prop. Basically he was rampaging through and stomping all over the NSW forward pack, they couldnt cope with him at all.

Lotu Inisi is another big unit, seems to always break the line and carry a few defenders with him. Two very good prospects if you like more dynamic big units especially Tom Ale who would be very much in the young Ruben Wiki mould of player.

He's certainly a unique prospect, I've seen him in games playing at prop where he would start the set with a hit up through the middle and then feature again later in the set throwing a cut out ball to the wing. He has the leg drive to play prop, but is also light enough on his feet to play centre. Part of the new breed of positionless players.
