Injury Warriors Injury Thread 2019

Ever Hopeful

Whilst I agree with the thoughts of resting key players, it is also more important than people may think to stay as competitive as possible to the end of the season.

We are starting to gain some respect as Aussie pundits are seeing us stay in contests for longer. Taking the season lightly and opening the floodgates could damage that, which wouldn't be ideal given we are hoping to be very active in the recruitment market. We have enough things going against us there without a complete capitulation. We want to give the impression that we need just a couple of key signings to propel into the top 4.

Sure give a couple of fringe players some time, but keep the changes minimal. It helps the new guys anyway.

I think finishing the season well should be the first priority. We are still recruiting and the best possible advertisement for the club is winning games.

Don’t rush players back and rest players with niggles but we need to do the best we can for the rest of the season.

Mate it’s a lost cause.

The damage done already is too great.

You’re kidding yourself if you think finishing 9th or 10th is going to make any difference to our recruitment

Nikorima is also injured, surely we can get dispensation for Mulaney to get a debut?? We don't have an available hooker otherwise.
It will be an interesting team selection this week, usually I tend to skip them.

Will they request dispensation to call someone up? They would be justified in order to get a specialist for that position. Also would show us if Kearney is up to blooding someone as that hasn't been a strong point of his tenure.

Will the NRL approve it? The only reason I list this as I recall the rules are if you are all out of options and remember reading about clubs being challenged about others who can play in that position. Tevaga as much as he's not a hooker the fact he has played there could come back to bite us especially that he played there on Friday night. Potentially also Keighran filling in the a few weeks ago.

Hopefully the club points out they are part timers and not specialists.

Feeling for Beale.

It looked like a knee on knee clash. Knee cap snapped in half... i don’t even want to imagine the damage done to the knee.

He has had a horrible run of injuries at the Warriors which has slowed him down and at 29, I hope he gets the opportunity to come back with a few productive injury free years to finish out his career.

Good luck for the surgery and rehab 👍🏻
