Not a great draw, only 2 games at “home” with only 1 at MSS

How many wins?

Rd 1 Knights 〜 home / Wellington
Rd 2 Roosters - away
Rd 3 Cows - away
Rd 4 Bulldogs - home
Rd 5 Sharks - away
Rd 6 Knights - away

Liked the forward pack we started with and the back 3 going forward. I’d like to see Shaun Johnson and Te Maire Martin start in the halves with Metcalf pushing when fit. Vailea definitely centre, not sure of the other but lean towards Pompey. I like a bench of Walker, Afoa, Ale, Curran/Ford depending on which starts. When Metcalf is fit I think he should come onto the bench for either Curran or Ford, whichever is holding their spot.

Rd1 is crucial

Whatever it takes, we need those 2 points against the Knights

Interesting to see how Curran goes. Especially with his off field dramas and losing his #1 fanboy/coach/mentor/friend/dad Nathan Brown

I put our 2 home games as wins as neither opposition looks great although who knows with dogs hopefully they take a while to fire if they do. We aren't good enough to win many away games I don't think.

really need to win 2-3 to give us any hopes to make the 8 IMHO ...is a tough start to the season but I think we have pretty good draw overall ..all comes down to how the team plays on the day .. surely having some home games again have got to be worth a few extra wins over being Aus based prior year

Realistically it is probably 1-2, but could potentially snag 3 - Knights home/away and Doggies at home.
It all comes down to the halves (and perhaps the centres) and how they perform... I think we have a better pack, back 3 and perhaps bench (each being collectively) than both of those sides.

I agree wholeheartedly that round 1 is crucial. We have to win. We also have to gun for the next Knights encounter.

You would normally fancy your chances against the Dogs but the team I saw play last night have improved out of sight. Townsvile no matter how well or poorly the Cowboys are playing has always been a bit of a hoodoo for us. The Sharks are top contenders this year and the Roosters are the Roosters.

Honestly only seeing us beat the Knights twice optimistically but always have hope we can shank a 3rd somewhere somehow. Two is my final answer. Lock it in please...
