General Warriors away or alternate jersey?

The game we played against the Eels on Saturday was an away match, so why were the Warriors wearing the fully black jersey instead of the grey one with the black stripes? Is that jersey meant to be the away one or just the alternate one, when another team wears a similar strip? Or have the Warriors management just been conned into thinking that it was a Warriors home match?

I don't think they were conned into thinking anything. The game was in NZ see any other teams from here? Technically it was an 'away' game for us but cmon you seriously don't think that that game could have been called a Parra home game?

Well they did have the Eel Mascot, Parrmatta cheerleaders and everything else you can think of, except for the crowd.

Yes

And where did all those Yellow PARRA Hand Gloves come from..

Surely they were giving them out...

Me reckons they will wear the Grey strip in Cristchurch because the Tigers strip has some black
in it...

The general rule seems to be that the home team gets first dibs on wearing their main jersey.
The Hamilton game was a 'home' game for the Eels as we know, and they wore their gold 'main' strip. Ultimately, I guess it made more sense for the Warriors to wear their black strip because it contrasts much better than the light grey... esp for tv.
I imagine when we play the Dragons away, we will wear the black as well.. unless the Drags wear their alternate Illawarra style jersey (which is far cooler ;) ).

The away strip is not always worn for away games ... it depends on what the opposition is wearing. If Parra had decided to play the Hamilton game in their predominantly blue strip, then we probably would have pulled out our silver strip.

Basically the home team picks their strip, and the away team picks whatever is the best option to avoid a clash.

Being picky, I think they're called "alternate" strips these days anyway ... ?

It's a bloody disgrace. David Gallop has a lot to answer for. I say we string him up next time he's in town.

Personally the sooner we have a naked team the better.

A "parramatta" home match when the whole crowd was doing the 'Warriors' chant? Yeah Eels home game indeed!
