General Warriors 2017 Predictions

Nobody is reading this thread right now.
Same coach and same players? I would say 6 - 12 dependent on injuries and form.

We are not horrible and we are not amazing. We are sort of like that girl at the club who gets really hot if you drink heaps but when you wake up in the morning next to her you feel empty in side.

I've said it before, will say it again, I think provided we have a decent run with injury and we keep the same squad we will have a good year next year regardless of coach.
We have had a decent run with injury this year. Only 1 key player down for the season, and Shaun Johnson on half a leg for half the season is pretty good IMO.
I think that Warriors fans need to be patient. And I know that's a lot to ask given the last twenty odd years.
I have been patient for 22 bloody seasons now. How much longer do you suggest I wait?
All i am trying to say is that if people realise we are building, our squad is improving, getting more experience and depth, our coach, while making mistakes is also making some really good decisions and changes.

I agreed with all of that, two bloody games ago. My grandaddy said don't make the same mistake twice:(.

2 more seasons. Given you have waited 20 another two is better than waiting another 20

As for your Grand daddy, they new a thing or two back in the early 1800's. The Warriors have changed coaches how many times in their history. it would be interesting to see that compared to the other clubs in the same period. Changing the coach right now is the dumbest thing to do, unless there is someone clearly better. And I didn't say Cleary is better there by the way.

If Cleary had stayed the club would be way better off now with a half to partner Shaun Johnson. If Cappy stays we will get:

Improvement followed by serious collapses.
Rumours about player unrest.
A bottom eight forward pack.
This season repeated.

.

And if we repeat or better that we'll have a good year next year regardless of coach (although ideally with a better coach).

Funny. So if we waited 5 years with Cleary as coach we may have had his son playing for us? How great is hindsight to have and what a reason to keep a coach.

All the rest we had under Cleary anyway so....apart from Daniel Anderson for 2 maybe 3 years the other 17 or so years have basically been along those sort of lines. This is not new to the Warriors just because Cappy is the coach. And should he be let go it won't be any different under another coach.

I have gone from supporting Cappy to thinking he should be replaced. I say this purely on the basis of results. If somebody like Bennett wanted to come here it means we can have anybody at the right price. The club made a big mistake letting Cleary go and in reality Cappy was only a Claytons coach because of that fiasco.

Watching their recent games, and comparing that with the Anderson era the team could do with a good kick up the arse from some fearsome bastard. That doesn't mean everybody needs a kick up the arse, but enough do to warrant that approach.

Guys. Theres already a Sack Coach Cappy thread. Lets not make this another one please...

A few players dont want to play for the Warriors anymore Cappy to still coach
the Warriors we make the 8 knocked out first round Manu Maumalo on wings
as there wont be any cover

All roads lead back to Cappy.

Thats all i am going to say on this thread.

Is there, has it just started?

Next year, the best and toughest pre season ever, followed by more crying, gnashing of teeth, bad language and disappointment from the same sad arse pack of Warriors tragics as every year, 80% of us will say "I'm over this shit, fuck these wankers, I'm out." at least three times only to be back by Tuesday and the team announcement every time. At least one new member will say "Keep the Faith" after a typically shit run of games. A couple of posters will get butt hurt after someone rubbishes what they think is the post of the year and it will blow up into a fuck you contest till the whole thing finishes up in The Bog. The merits of Manu will be argued all year even after his season ending leg injury, as will Konnie's rise or fall at the Titans, Tui's place in the team and whether Forans signing was the right thing to do. Myself and LG will offend someone, again. Shaun Johnson will either be the best player in the team or just lazy, depending on whether he scores the game winning try after the siren or he only runs for 7 metres all game. We will get absolutely smashed by a team below us the week after beating a top 2 team.

These are not predictions but actual fact based on 21 years of following these muppets, and will require regular updates as the new season approaches and my annual interest is stoked as March draws closer.

Point taken, if Cappy stays I predict more of the same.
All roads lead back to Cappy.
Take your guys point. Pretty hard to make predictions when the coach is the driver of the bus.

Agree with you there bruce. If Cappys in charge little will change. We may make the 8 but we wont go deep Im picking. Same coach, same structure, same selections...
