General Warriors 2015 Stats

Just seen this stat courtesy of this great site.
Average tackles per game-
Look at mannering- averaging almost 52 per game- double anyone else ( bodene aside ).
And it's not just the amount of tackles but the quality of them.

Quite interesting. Mannering has basically taken over from friends number of tackles per game and also stiffened up the middle because the majority of his tackles are quality. Thomas doesnt have the same fatigue factor that Friend had so should be delivering quality service from dummy half.

Bodene's tackle stats surprised me. I didn't expect them to be that high. Seem to go unnoticed.

Townsend and Hoffman on that right edge are fairly even. People say Shaun gets targetted in defence, he is making 6 tackles less per game than C'Money.

Chad's our danger man now days....

That's why Woods put that dirty late shoulder charge on him after the kick. Cause Townsend was ripping them a new one...

Options are everything when your name is C Money...

Not sure about now but Simon Mannering was topping the tackle count for the whole NRL just last week and Ben Matulino was topping the meter count...

To be fair to 'Manu to the forwards' people like myself, our forwards were not performing like they are this year. Matulino is amazing this year, and Vete and Lisone have hit the ground running. Manu isn't hitting the ball up twice every set this year so far.
Ryan Hoffman is why the Warrior Manu hit ups have found some common sense and why the rest of the forwards are kicking up to a higher gear....especially Mannering and Matulino.

The fact that Hoffman is a hit up two specialist ( been discussed addendum ) is why team look so different this year.

I've always posted that I suspect Mannering and Matulino ( some others too ) were under performing because they were expected to carry the other bastards in this team who were prone to being dominated by their forward opposites.

Now that Hoffman and Thompson are here....they slog their guts out too.....that has given our stalwarts more fire in their bellies.....add to that the two noob props and Leuiliuai stopping people rampaging through our middle and you have a recipe for team work.

Hoffman doesn't do stupid shit.

He doesn't turn the ball over.

He scores Tries and defends like beast.

Those are the traits the others need too see and learn from every week.

The impact is profound imo.

Breaking down the only stat that counts for the Cowboys game...

Our left edge scored 2 and conceded 0, to extened their lead to +6.
Our right edge had it's first win of the season scoring 2 and conceding 1, gaining 1 try to -3.

But out middle was carved up, scoring 0 and conceding 4, slipping back from +1 down to -3.

Not surprising considering the extra fatigue our forwards were under due to the travel, the humidity, and turnovers...

And the fact that sending mark up on the dummy half on our goal line for two tries - that always gonna hurt the stata for the middle.

Round 8 versus the Titans. 25 April, 2015...

In an effort to do something that our FG side seems completely unable to do, and be consistent, here's the latest breakdown of our tries for and against...

Our left side continues their dominance over our oppositions with1 try for and 1 try against, bringing their total up to 15 and 9 for the season (+6 tries).

Please leave them alone. They're doing just fine..

Our center also had a mixed game with 2 tries for and 2 tries against, seeing them sitting below the line with 7 tries for and 10 tries against thus far (-3 tries).

And our right edge lost us this game with another horrendous defensive effort, scoring 2 beautiful tries for individual players highlights reels, but conceding 4 in the same 80 mins... They are currently sitting on 9 and 14 for the season (-5 tries).

Unforced errors and unnecessary turnovers are weakening out middle, with the extra workload. And just basic misreads on defense is killing us down the right.

Round 16 v the Raiders

Another good win with our right edge coming out on top with 3 tries to 1.

Our left edge and center both scored 1 try to 0 giving us a 4 try advantage over the raiders.

Our season thus far.

Left edge are still the champs with.................... 25 tries to 19.....+6
Right edge is catching them up now with.......... 19 tries to 21.....-2
And our center is also doing much better with.. 15 tries to 16.....-1

Rounds 1 - 8

Left edge.... 15 tries to 9........+6
Center......... 7 tries to 10.......-3
Right edge.. 9 tries to 14.......-5

Since round 9 - Where our current run of winning form began, with 5 wins from 7 games..

Right edge.. 10 tries to 7........+3
Center......... 8 tries to 6..........+2
Left edge.... 10 tries to 10........0

So after our left edge dominated early in the season, our team has now become far more balanced across the park, seeing the right edge and center gaining ground...

Will the left be able to hold their 7 try advantage over the center till the end of the season. Time will tell, but with Shaun Johnson rampaging the way he is it might be tough....

After the last two games where we've had to make considerably less tackles than our opponents so I did a breakdown of tackle advantage vs win/losses....

1. Knights-Loss........... 27 less tackles (made by the Warriors)
4. Broncos-Loss..........36 more tackles
5. Storm-Loss..............9 less tackles
7. Cowboys-Loss........42 more tackles
8. Titans-Loss.............58 less tackles
13. Rabbitos-Loss......79 more tackles
14. Roosters-Loss.....12 more tackles

2. Canberra-Win.........51 less tackles
3. Eels-Win.................77 less tackles
6. Tigers-Win..............64 less tackles
9. Sharkes-Win..........13 more tackles
10.Eels-Win................30 less tackles
12. Knights-Win..........49 more tackles
15 Titans-Win.............84 less tackles
16. Raiders-Win........119 less tackles

Our last two games have seen our two best tackle-advantage stats for the year... If this is the start of a new trend then we should expect to play finals footy...

Another factor about our season thus far is that we've only beaten 1 current top 8 team this year.... and that's the Sharks, who could find themselves back out of the eight on Monday night if the Bulldogs get a leg over the storm...

And the only bottom 8 teams to beat us were the titans, who sneaked momentarily into the 8 with their victory over us... and the Knights, who were sitting top of the table after round 4...

So we've become a team that wins games it should win and loses games it should lose.... Amazing....

Considering the talent that's arriving next year, and the power base we're building here right now, we should be beating every team (bar the other top 4) in 2016...

These stats must be wrong, am I correct to think Manu's side scores more tries and lets in less, Impossible! That goes against everything I have heard from the experts.

It's quite easy to explain:
All the players from the right hand side have to come over to help Manu defend so when the ball is then sent back to the right, there's no one left there to defend that side. But we score more tries on our left hand side because everyone is worried about Manu stuffing it up on attack so we stack the left hand side and score due to superior numbers.

See, it's all still Manu's fault - and don't get me started on his effect on climate change - the guy is just a menace!!!!

Surely I'm not stacking the stats in Manu's favor? That would intentionally undermine all my good work criticizing his season to date...

No the stats are correct... as correct as I can make them anyways, so they might still be way out according to some of my bigger fans...:cyclops:
