Just heard from Danny wieldlier on the footy show Webb is looking to go the union and the warriors to chase Wade Mcinnion from PARRA. This guy is pretty much always spot on as he gets hes info. from the clubs, players and player managers themselves. What are your thoughts. Who wants webb to stay? Who wants him to go & if so whos to replace him?
I would be very happy with wade depending how much we'd have to pay. I don't wanna over pay him cause Clint Green Shields from ST GEORGE is also off contract & would be cheaper & probally just as good.
I also think we should sign Colin Best from STGEORGE & get rid of Martin, so the only player we keep is Evarn Tumavai.

To be truthful I wouldnt be disapointed if Webb left. I havent rated him as a fullback at all. Better as a hooker in my opinion. Wade has some talent.

Clint Green Shields from ST GEORGE is also off contract & would be cheaper & probally just as good.

Wade McKinnon would be a solid option, but I reckon Greenshields would be a better target ... but (a) I'd rather see Webb stay here, and (b) Greenshields is probably going to head to the Gold Coast.

Greenshileds will be at the gold coast. If Webb does go then McKinnon would be a very good replacement. His support play is outstanding and having him run off offloading Warriors forwards could cause havoc for opposition teams.

And since when was Danny always spot on? Wouldn't trust this guys sources with anything. I'd be surprised if Webb made the move to Union. He hardly has time to crab across field as it is, what's he going to do in Union?

Id be very disapointed if Webb went to union. We have wached him really grow as a footballer.
I don't like losing players the club has invested so much in.
He could be making the shift to try and wear an australian jersey I can't blame him for that, though I don't doubt that he is a kiwi on the footy field.

Its got me stuffed how the man has all these sources when they must know hes going to tell everyone he can at the slightest oppurtunity. Dont think his scoops hold much water.

I know the Warriors are a club but we're fast becoming the Australian Warriors... i would really like to see local talent developed more instead of always getting the Aussie offcasts.

The NZRU aren't interested in Webb. Why would they spend money and pretty contract to pull across someone who in unproven in the code the year of a World Cup.

Especially how the AB's are as deep as they have ever been in outside backs. I think that Jim Branagan is just trying to stir up a bit talk about one of his boys to show that hes a big dealing agent instead of a big cheating agent.

Besides he isn't even a real Kiwi, I love Webby but NZRU are so straight up and down they would never play a Auzzie in the team especially when they are in such a strong position at the moment.

In saying all that I can't see the Warriors keeping him, I think that the Titans would be a good shot at getting him after all it's not far away from his home and family.

And as for McKinnon and Greenshields I think either of them would be fina additions but we you need to remember that the Warriors get some cap taken off them next year so they will be loosing a few players and they won't be able to replace them with quality NRL experienced players. The likelyhood is that they will be picking a lot of young, inexperienced, CHEAP players to fill the void.

Look to 2008 as the big recruiting year when the increased cap limit goes up, the cap restictions come off and their two biggest contracts (Price and Wiki) expire. It will be all on then!
