Wont be till about February next year mate. About the same time the Vulcans open trial kicks off. Keep an eye out on the NYC thread for 2014. It will be posted up for sure...[DOUBLEPOST=1380006292][/DOUBLEPOST]Actually, the U20 trials are around November with registration taking place in October. Theres good advertising for it on the Warrirors website closer to the date...

I'd also suggest you keep an eye on the warriors.co.nz site - they had quite a bit of information about the open trials they held in Cornwall park before this season. The other thing I'd suggest is email the club directly.

Make sure you get his ass there and tell him to train hard. Reality is that most of the squad has been picked and players that are earmarked for the next step get a longer trial or already have their foot in the door. What they want is for players that they might not have noticed properly before or have no way of accessing jumping out at them, bolters. They always a few every trial and thats why they always hold them.

Good luck to the bro and I'll be sure to keep you posted on any developments.

ramraider78 and slaughterhouse.sa maybe of more assistance...

Wasn't Abraham Papalii and Metia Lisati picked from the open trial last year? Everyone's got a shot, kids fly in from OZ for the trial and travel in to Auckland, hopefully the weather is better this year then last...

Im not too sure about those two players ...but I remember seeing Stedman Lefau rip up.
He ended up playing the whole season (I would pick him ahead of Sio in the backrow)

It is a geniune chance to impress Jones and his team etc.

The Vodafone Warriors will again be on the lookout for promising young footballers for the club’s NYC squad when they stage their annual open trial at Cornwall Park on Saturday, November 02.

High-achieving rugby league and rugby union players born in the years 1994, 1995 and 1996 can now register for places in the trial which last year paved the way for Stedman Lefau and Abraham Papalii to earn Vodafone Junior Warriors NYC contracts this year.

Lefau went on to make 21 appearances for the NYC side this year and Papalii 15.

Vodafone Warriors general manager football operations Dean Bell said the club was looking for players to compete for spots in the 2014 NYC squad.

“This trial has become a fixture and it serves a great purpose for us,” he said.

“We encourage anyone who has excelled at club, school or representative level to register for the trial. This could provide an exciting opportunity.”

Bell said the Vodafone Warriors’ extensive scouting network followed all levels of rugby league and rugby union competitions. The trial would allow staff to compare a number of players already on their radar as well as giving unidentified talent the chance to showcase their ability.

“Due to the elite nature of the NYC competition combined with the huge interest we encounter in trialling for the Junior Warriors, we can’t guarantee everyone who registers will have the opportunity to trial,” said Bell.

“Fitness and speed testing is planned on the day, so players should work hard to ensure it is at an acceptable level.”

Make sure you get along. Its a good watch to see the next generation going at it and you will always spot that one "who's that kid" player there. Pity the final trial is closed off though.

Goodluck to Paul and I'll be keeping an eye out. If your going to be there then I'd be keen to hook up...

Nah I think they just take names and then depending on age and how well they do.
Bring them in for NYC pre-season training.

Havili is too old as is Sio and Bishop.
So Hooker might be a spot up for grabs.

Also you imagine Fusitua and maybe Hukatai might play some vulcans - so wingers too.

Not too sure who the warriors have already signed up etc.

That part of the article scares me! Stacey Jones is already approaching NYC players and telling them to play for the Pirates for more money. Thought that would have been a conflict of interest...[DOUBLEPOST=1383473923][/DOUBLEPOST]Rugby League Video Highlights | NRL, Warriors & More by TVNZ - TV News Video | TVNZ

Mt Wellington think your taking things as total gospel or truth.
as a fan of the NYC I have seen many bad moves from players going to clubs that don't suit - including Mt Albert - guys like Toka Likiliki, Braxton Stanley playing reserves.
Ideally they can stay at their local club however sometimes it is in the best interest of the players to move imo.

If Stacey Jones was so biased towards Pt Chev - more NYC players would of played for them.
The reality they already have experienced top local players.

Also Tama Koopu - a pirates would of played more NYC. He went already at fox too.

Don't know some of those coaches names - but Boycie Nelson is trainer or coach for Glenora.

Be interesting if they had any good rugby players put their hand up.
If they can get a younger Abraham Papalii - then they can train him to be a beast.

Yeah not bothered too much by the article but just hearing from club reps that he has in fact tried to scout a few of the better players to the Pirates...

Well we'll wait for 2014 silly season to start in january an see how many nyc kids from south auckland sign up for pt chev in the fox; i really dont give a stuff about the central an west clubs,- told u before 2x of our nyc juniors were aproached for 2014 to come over for $ an all play together;ok you dont like ackland's nyc reign fair enough but he never raped south clubs to stack the lions - always had a good relationship with hawks even when we still in shaman.

I accept some nyc players in the past had to move from phelan to fox clubs.

Rod ratu 2012 papatoetoe premz coach, dan kepa nzrl coaching an development officer, jono paul 2012 akarana 15's coach - richmond?,gavin bailey glenora trainer?
