We keep grizzling about this year in and year out, and the Warriors do nothing about it. If you believe you have a problem then document them into a solid body of evidence.
Personally I would contact all who have played and coached at the Warriors for a specified number of years. Examples can be collated and investigated. This is where expertise will be necessary, I would suggest a skilled investigator, such as a retired CIB member or retired QC. During the collation advice could be sought from our new bestie, Gus.
How the NRL is approached has to be carefully considered, playing the victim will not work, it has to be in the framework of improving the code.
In terms of image in Aus we are generally seen as “whingers” and the perception is that all teams get bad calls, interestingly though this year with the sympathy card we seem to be get a few more neautrals thinking we are hard done by at times.
Have often thought about full on documenting grievances but there would be a few caveats to be wary of-
1. Couldn’t go back too far, can easily be written off and dismissed as previous administrations failings.
2. A lot of rules can be interpretive, eg time allowed in tackle and keeping “10” meters, you’d have to compare to all other games and variances could be lost in averages.
3. The big stats I’d be curious about would be the timing of penalties received/given, The position on the field they are given and the dynamic of the game when they are awarded- this is the biggest momentum shifters/legs ups that seem to screw us over, but again they can be very subjective.
Would also be interested to see the % of potential tries sent up for review, and the % of errors found in refereeing performance reviews by team.
