Staff Tony Iro

I think it would be more sensible long term if they looked at hroo.ing Green for some sort of Coaching role. Which begs the question, whats the deal with Stacey.

The Storm seem to keep their most professional players on e.g. Ryan Hoffman...which begs a few questions about his time here.

Whats the story with Iro anyway? Why does everyone hate him?
Personally? He was an outstanding player but has been around the club for a long time when things have not improved. I don't know that he was highly regarded back in Ivan Cleary's day. I recall an incident when one of the Aussie halves, it might have been Berrigan or Seymour made a dumb move on the last tackle. Cleary asked him after the game why he did it. He said he was acting on instructions from Iro (who was the Trainer), so he thought it came from Cleary. Go figure. He must be cheap.

Shite...so the monkeys are still running the zoo.
Well TBF he kept the team together. We were already losing James Maloney and Micheal Luck. We were going to lose just about everyone else in the leadership group. The hate for Iro was spread by Bluey/Mt Albert loyalists who were too biased to see just how horribly incompetent Bluey was.

There really isnt any logical reason for people to hate the bloke. Lets not forget he left under Matt Elliott, was headhunted by Cappy and pulled back into the top ranks by Kearney. Obviously the bloke knows a thing or two.

I challenge anyone to define just what it is they don't like about him that isn't just namby pamby wishy washy bitchy opinions based on nothing but a fake rumour started by someone who was caught red handed lying about club gossip...

No argument there Welly. He was a very intelligent player, as well as big bastard who broke Wally Lewis's arm in a test. When they used him on Sky he was very forthright with his opinions and if I recall got the boot because he upset the Warriors management (Mad Mick I think). However he has been a constant in a poorly performing club, so is it his fault...or not?
