I love the West Coast of NZ.

Visited Blackball .. a small town 30 mins from Greymouth
It was an Overcast day & I went to the Blackball Hilton pub for two beers

There was a Warriors flag flying on someones chimney in Blackball...

Another fine West Coaster. Tony Coll was one of the best. When Mark Graham, himself as tough as it gets, mentions Tony Coll as a tough and courageous player that counts for something. Where are those guys these days? I know what sort of the team the Warriors would be with his type in the pack.

RIP Tony Coll. A great Kiwi but has done shitloads for league on the Coast in pretty much every role and way imaginable. I know a lot of Coasters and I've never heard anyone have a mediocre word to say about Tony Coll, let alone a bad one. Absolute legend! Thoughts with his family and close friends, especially Tony Kokshoorn.

I don't think there is the population base to support it. Miners made up most of the players and we don't seem to need them anymore. League is not usually the favoured sport of enviromentalists and alternative lifestylers 9 { ME EXCLUDED }.

I noticed on TV1 news tonight that they had a story relating to the Govt making Funds avaiable for sports and in the story there were two West Coast teams ( kids) playing each other.
