Why is it that on some posts you can see the 'inappropriate' and 'off topic' ratings, but on others (like the first message in this thread) it says "message hidden due to negative ratings", then you click on it and it doesn't show any negative ratings?

Negative ratings are gained by 'Inappropriate' or 'Offtopic' ratings which are anonymous so members can alert us to things without fear of retribution...

Really? I remember laughing at the at the time. Didn't click like or smiley laughs thing at the time though (have now).

In case nobody read the OP of the recruitment thread I'll reiterate now.
The recruitment thread is the most popular thread in this whole forum. If people come on here briefly they will almost always read that thread looking for up to date news, rumours and gossip. For every message we get about deleted posts we get a lot more messages from people frustrated at the amount of BS they have to wade through just to get to the good stuff. Nothing worse after a hard days work than having to read 3 pages of garbage cause people sometimes like to treat threads like some sort of chat group.
As stated earlier, the recruitment is heavily moderated but most other threads are left to run as is. Where discussion gets off topic a suitable thread is always the desirable first option or an appropriate thread is created.
Apologies to anyone who feels aggrieved by anything I have done in my role. Its hard to keep everyone happy. Its hard to get the balance between being an informative site and fostering the comradery on here.

Well I can honestly say I'm probably one of the most moderated/off topic/on the naughty mat/ locked out/ stood down posters on here ( not counting jonno, who will remain the undisputed champion for all time) and and the reason I can't be arsed with more than an occasional skimming of threads has nothing to do with all the PMs I get telling me to stop causing shit and everything to do with the performances of the Warriors themselves over the last 6 years. The league side of the Warriors just piss me off, it's the humour only that brings me back. At least we have an election this year to give a reason to come on to the site, I can at least get some joy mocking the Greens, Little Andrew and the alzheimer's sufferers that vote for Winston every election, forgetting he's made a career out of doing fuck all for anyone other than Winnie.
Mods, a necessary evil that have ruined some of my fun over the years but hell I'd like to think I've caused them a fair bit of grief as well.

See this post above from Jimi Jones is clearly off topic. You could argue that he's asking the mods what they think about manu playing in the forwards at Salford, but it's not likely to be a winning argument.
What I'd like to see is an ignore button added, which gives the option to posters, who have no time for off topic discussions, to collapse this post and any replys to it with one single button push. Then if 10 members push the ignore button it becomes a collapsed post for everyone, and readers only see who it's from and how many replys it's got hidden, with the option to open and then close again if they don't like, haven't got time for the conversation that's lurking within.
It becomes a side stream for any who have spare time and want to debate that point or that poster, without being a pain for the time limited posters to avoid, as 30 or 40 off topic replys could be collapsed into that one small message.
And if nobody replies to in ignored post you can then delete it, due to lack of interest, with the confidence that 10 posters have already put it on ignore.
This would make the job of moderation much more fun IMO.

I'm gutted, I used to be forever telling tajhay I promise not to do it again. I've probably been over taken because I've hardly posted anything in the last 9 months.
