So these COCKSUCKERS wait until we are out of the running to introduce the Captains Challenge??

Tell me how this isn't a rigged comp.

We win the last game easy if we had 2 x challenges each per half.

Cocksuckers.
It's only going to be for tries - and it was the Bunker that decided not to allow our two because of obstruction - you can't challenge the Bunker to have another look at what they've already ruled on so it wouldn't have helped us.

Actually, there was one occasion when it might have - when Fusitua was flying through the air and he was knocked over the sideline, maybe they could have looked at whether the "tackler" was using his arms to push him out or just his shoulder in which case he used a shoulder charge to prevent a try and, at the very least, a penalty should have been awarded, if not a penalty try.

Don't worry, the bunker wouldve still found a way to say Hoffmans challenge was inconclusive.

NRL360 seem to be saying that the refs won't be awarding tries to the bunker.....hence where the captains challenge comes in... If so that's a good thing, although the captain is likely to be going off what his team mates think..and they will always claim they scored!

Under the trial rules, each captain will be allowed to challenge the referee's decision in relation to tries only.

The referee will be required to make a decision on the field and it will only be reviewed by the bunker if a challenge is made.

Each team will be allowed one incorrect challenge per half but there will be no limit on how many times a captain can contest a ruling by the match officials if he continues to be proven right.

An additional challenge will be allowed in the final 5 minutes of the game and in golden point.

CEO Todd Greenberg said the NRL had been considering a captain's challenge system for several years but did not previously have the technology to be confident the correct decision would be delivered.

"However, the bunker gives us the opportunity to trial the captain's challenge with state of the art technology to help determine whether a try has been scored," Mr Greenberg said.

Umm..the bunker has been in place all season yet they just worked out they have the ability to test this for a game in round 26 of the competition?

Thats not going far enough. It should include penalties and knock ons that could be potentially strips or a good example was when we got penalised for tackling in the air when in fact the tackle had been timed to perfection.

Just a waste of time...

Confident the correct decision will be made.o_O What have we been watching for the last 26 rounds seems like the same confusion but with multiple cameras and commentary to me.

The ref on Sunday told Hoffman his thoughts were just an opinion. He was giving him the facts as it came from the Bunker. I'll repeat again the refs aren't sending the decision up to God they are sending up to a guy to review footage and to give his opinion.

Greenberg needs to stick up for his baby. But confident the correct decision will be delivered they have changed the way they have ruled certain rulings mid game.

Like the DRS with excessive appealing in cricket you’d get a bit of gratification from seeing serial whingers (Gallen, Thurston) have to put their money where their mouth is in a captains challenge.

Remember Vatuvei scoring against the dragons a couple of years ago, Dugan who was trying to save the try, waved it off, gave it no chance – he couldn’t have grounded it more cleanly.

And anything that takes us back to the ref pointing to the spot more regularly instead of making us go upstairs for easy decisions, is good for the viewer…

But the inconsistency of the guys sitting at the monitors will still be there, so until that changes, there’s no satisfactory way of doing it.
