Line-up changes for Vodafone Warriors

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joel Moon will start at standoff, Lance Hohaia in the centres and Aaron Heremaia at hooker in a reshuffled starting line-up for the Vodafone Warriors’ 24th-round NRL game against Canberra at Mount Smart Stadium today.
Moon moves from the centres to join veteran Stacey Jones in the halves, Hohaia comes off the bench to take Moon’s spot in the centres and Heremaia goes to dummy half with Ian Henderson now on the interchange bench.
Of the original five-man bench named on Tuesday, prop Russell Packer is omitted. He played for the Vodafone Junior Warriors against the young Raiders in today’s NYC curtain-raiser.
Recalled captain Steve Price and centre Jerome Ropati are confirmed starters after being sidelined recently. This will be Price’s first game for the Vodafone Warriors since the 4-29 home defeat by St George Illawarra last month. He has missed the club’s last three matches against Penrith, Gold Coast and Parramatta.
Ropati has also been in and out of the side recently. Omitted for the last home game against the Titans, he was recalled for the Parramatta encounter last week only to be ruled out with a shoulder complaint.
Price (35) comes back for his 313th career match and his 91st for the Vodafone Warriors, replacing Evarn Tuimavave who is on the bench.
And Ropati takes over from 19-year-old Siuatonga Likiliki who became Vodafone Warrior No 155 when he made his first-grade debut against the Eels.
While the two internationals return, promising Ukuma Ta’ai has his second successive start in the second row following several appearances from the bench.
Second rower Simon Mannering plays his 99th NRL game today and is still on track to play in every one of the club’s matches for the third straight season. Cleary will also have his 99th game as an NRL coach today since stepping into the role with the Vodafone Warriors at the start of the 2006 season. Both player and coach are eyeing their 100th milestones in the 25th-round match against the Bulldogs next Sunday.
Micheal Luck made 45 tackles against Parramatta, lifting his season’s tally to 937 (an average of almost 47 a game).
Winger Manu Vatuvei scored his sixth try in the Vodafone Warriors’ last six matches to take his career total to 56 in 92 games, one off drawing level with Clinton Toopi in third place on the club’s all-time try-scoring list. He has scored 11 tries in 17 games this year and, since the start of last season, he has crossed for 27 tries in his last 34 games.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, Hohaia's in the centres...

Happy to see Moon back in the halves. It's now his responsibility to get into first reciever when possible and make things happen.

Don't understand Hohaia moving to the centres. What's the point? He's not a long term option there so why didn't they just stick with Likiliki?

Packer was awesome for the U20's. Nice to see Matulino putting in some big hits and playing wider of the ruck too.

Did I just hear Ivan say he was glad to have Ropati back because he's been playing well?

Ivan, stuff off the crack!

Heremaia was definately at dummy half. A bit of mind games from the Warriors perhaps.

Yeah, good luck with that.

That would be Wade following up the play... you know the Wade that hasn't done it all... you know the Wade that has given up....

Brought some excitement back, just need to be more selective on pushing the pass.

Agreed, but that was always going to happen when they started making breaks. They've been shackled for most of the season and suddenly they find themselves in open pasture and just get a bit anxious instead of doing what should come naturally.

yep just out of practice with being in a postion to score tries. BTW what actually changed this week, Steve came back, but did someone mention to stacey and Ivan that there is a right side that he could play to?

So... does everyone still hate Heremaia? What about Ropati? Is Moon still a poor defender?

What a game... I reckon Jarrod Hayne can take the credit, NRL games this weekend have been so much more exciting, and it's got to be his influence on the competition.

Ropati will always get hate, he's just one of those players. Heremaia had a very good game, but it's just one game against a flat opposition.

As for Moon, who said he was a poor defender?

Ropati's defense was better today, Manu I thought had a bad game in defense, Heremaia's been in poor form until today & as for Moon I can't remember anyone "Hating" him. Moon has been mostly solid as a centre & was solid as a 5/8th today.
