Not unhappy to see him go,he hasn't lived up to my expectations. Will say I wasn't too unhappy with Brown going either but that was before luck retired.. Would love for him to do a back flip now.

We don't really have any hitters: Matulino and Steve Rapira are the two that spring to mind, Sam Rapira can put the odd one on. I don't think anyone else in first grade really can hit, Mannering is a very solid tackler - but not really hits - same with Lillyman, Taylor and Luck. Ta'ai can put on some, I guess, but he's out of the equation long term. I think our next best option would be from Paasi or Ikahihifo, if one of them make the step up.

I'm with Spency boy, I've been a big fan of Steve Rapira ever since I heard his last name was Rapira. I'd like to test him out in the top grade right next to his brother so as to see what type of mentality it would enforce. It's only a matter of time before one of them breaks their hands.

Steve has a beautiful front on mid riff hit that rattles them to the bone, he put on a couple and got stood up going for a couple last year, Ikahihifo also has some nice timing and Havili has an impressive hit in the few games I have seen.

Scott, Tamou, Sims x2, Cooper, Hall, Johnson, Taumalolo, etc, is a pretty decent forward pack. I think he'd be in a similar position over there.

To be fair, the guy is ALWAYS injured. He seems to eventually fight his way back in, then break again. I wouldn't re-sign Steve.

About time. Has done nothing special. I cringe everytime him and manu get the ball. Having him playing in first grade continually has always been questionable for me. Good luck Ta'ai coz you were quite "Taia" (samoan for shite)

Steve Rapira hits hard....I belong to the Cowboys forum the feedback on his physicality in a game was highly rated across the Board in their Forum, no one there Questions that he hits hard.

Watched him mow down a few for the Vulcans, diferrent style to Matulino , not the shoulder Charge ....bone rattling tackler.

Taai did not live up to his true potential

He could of done alot more to raise his profile by way of off loads and hits - I dont understand why he didnt perform like Matulino

Unfortunately he's more memorable for giving penalty's away and unforced errors

LOL. 3 years ago, you're a crack up. Watched Raps in NYC. When he was able to make the team due to injury AND form (his and others) and he was just alright, not much more. He and Tamou had a stink so he came to auckland. 4 years on and all he does is get injured for most the season, how few games has he played for us? His brother is definitely a good player, but he too is injury prone and for the last 2 seasons we've had alot less than what he's capable of. If he can stay fit and find his top form again next season i'll be very pleased, but if this trend of injuries continues when do we cut our losses? Guys like Ligi Sao sign with Manly for the opportunity because we lack vision.
