No great lost is Taai, I've being disappointed with his performances for last two years and at best is only squad player, especially if Steve raipara is resigned, Henry moving into second row next season and Palavia coming through.

Palavi is mud...dont see what the fuss on him is

He gets jerked off over because he's at med school (actually not true, he's in pre-med) and can string a sentence together. All good, but i'm more concerned about his onfield abilities.

what was the call?

Nothing special. I just said (when he debuted) that he wouldn't be at the club in 5 years. Mainly because I've never really rated him, and like Hame...he seemed the style of player that had a high chance of turning to crap (performance wise).

God call on the move to the Storm doing him good - I think he'd benefit from their structured approach to the game, and the 'no mistakes allowed' training mentality.

Here's hoping we retain Steve Rapira then, I really want to see him back in first grade.

gotta find his position..is it prop or lock...looks very 1 dimensional 4 mine when watching the vulcans

does a good hit but usually injures himself....Sebastine Ikahihifois a better prospect

I don't even remember Steve Raps playing a game for us!

Couldnt have been that memorable.

I don't think he's played that many for anyone, which is a shame because he could be a pretty good footballer.

Ikahihifo is a great prospect....he probably lacks a bit of size, but has plenty of speed and a good tackling technique, with a good work ethic.

Couldnt have been that memorable.

Steve played 4 games for us last year (Rounds 13 - 16).
He averaged 42 minutes of play (total = 170), made an average of 38.8m per game (155m), made no off loads, averaged less than 7 hit ups per game (7), made 2 errors in total, made an average of 23 tackles per game (92), made a total of 3 one-on-one tackles, a total of 2 ineffective tackles and missed 10 tackles.

For the first two games, he played off the bench when Mannering and Brown were moved to the centres. For the last two, he started in the second row when Taylor was moved to lock to replace an injured Micheal Luck.

I've never had a good look at Steve Raps. I can see he has a lot of mongrel but because he has been blighted with injuries I don't know his true potential.

I don't mind if we are looking for different options

Biggest hitter at the club IMO, seems to have bulked up a bit this year but hard to see him getting a run at the moment.

Ben Matulino says whats up

Fair call Magic. I'd say that Ben is probably our biggest hitter, but Rapira would be the most consistent hitter. His tackles aren't necessarily "big", but they're very solid and he makes every one count.

Can't argue with anyone saying that he hasn't lit the world alight since coming here, he was solid enough in first grade but never really did anything of note (apart from that line break). However, with Luck and Brown leaving we need a reliable, consistent forward and I think Rapira is exactly that.

I would like to see someone else in the pack that could put a hit on though...who? i dont know

I'm with Spency boy, I've been a big fan of Steve Rapira ever since I heard his last name was Rapira. I'd like to test him out in the top grade right next to his brother so as to see what type of mentality it would enforce. It's only a matter of time before one of them breaks their hands.
