I would of thought that the Sri Lankan government would of had some sort of thing going where they don't give passports to suspected members of the Tamal Tigers.

Thats how I'd do things if I was Boss anyway, but no one ever asks me.

Well very few of these terrorists are identified, I would think. Being a Tamil doesn`t exclude you from getting a Sri Lankan passport. In the past, the Indian government has offered opportunities for Tamils to get Indian citizenships and return to India. But also, the Sri Lankan government has been giving them citizenship too. Obviously when a separationist deals with the official authorities, they will do their best to hide their intentions, so it`s very hard to avoid that terrorists should get passports. But again, too early to speculate on this, can`t be sure who was behind this.

Keep in mind that many Tamils are based in India - not Sri Lanka. Also, it's important to differentiate between the Tamils in general, and the Tamil Tigers. Not every Tamil is a Tiger.

In fact, you know that there was some pretty bad stuff in Pakistan just recently. Even their prime minister (I think), that woman, has been assassinated. So this may have absolutely nothing to do with the Tamil Tigers, may just be some extremist local group who want to show they mean business. I`m not quite sure at the moment, can`t think clearly after 4 beers, but I think Sri Lanka came to Pakistan after another team refused to tour there. So maybe the terrorists just wanted to show that they do mean the shit they`re doing and nobody should go there.
