Support/Announcement Spyware virus you know bad computer stuff......

My computer has a spyware problem, i keep getting a system alert pop up that says my computer is infected. I take it it is serious.
Anyone know what my options are? a solution maybe?

All and any help would be apreciated cheers.

But I think pop-up you are getting might actualy be spyware itself. They will try and get you to install a program to remove the "spyware" but could actualy be installing a trojan or other spyware.

You can always invest in a netguide mag. Their free discs most always contain a free adware removal program. Usually called adaware. I use it and it is good program or buy the latest antivirus with adware.

DO NOT download the program they are trying to give you. It is a spybot and will infect your system AND slow down your machine.

I had the same problem sending out fake warnings, from what I thought was Microsoft. Changed my hompage and messed it up a bit.

Without the dirty sites PM whats the Net for?

Adaware is a good program but microsofts Anti-Spyware will pick up more and also has trojan protection.

The best program you can get is Zone Alarm Security Suite if your willing to pay for it but microsofts is pretty good for Freeware

Spybots, Adware and Trojans are programs that you install usualy buried in another program. Once inside your computer they set about running amok (Trojan Horse style)

Spybots and Adware monitor your internet usage and send this information back to its Mum and she sends out pop-ups according to what information she got. This is why your PC slows down because instead of just recieving info from web pages the spybot is also storing sending and then you also recieve from the Mum

Trojans are generally more nasty allow people to access your PC from their own PC to gather bank details and such.

Someting as simple as opening an email attachment can install a Trojan. So dont open emails if you dont know who they are from ( no matter how much bigger you want your penis )
and dont keep clicking yes on the porno sites.

What is the purpose of spyware? get passwords etc?

Spyware serves the same purpose as spybots and adware. just collecting info on which sites you use and sending out pop-ups
