Internationals Spoilers: New Zealand v PNG

Soft try to Adam Blair. 34-6, kick to come. We'd be further ahead if we knew how to kick goals, lol.

New Zealand 36 (Mannering 2, Ropati, Perrett, Luke, Fa'alogo, Blair tries; Inu 4/6, Issac Luke 0/1 goals)
Papua New Guinea 6 (Moore try; Wilshere 1/1 goal)

Perrett tried to claim a try, but there was a double knock on. Ganson shows incredible trust in his touch judge by checking the video ref for a knock on when the touchie has already correctly signalled that there was a knock on! And naturally, Cooley takes an age in calling it...and still hasn't just yet. Ridiculous.

It looks like it came off Perrett's leg, so it may be a try. Even so, the touchie was right.

New Zealand 42 (Mannering 2, Perrett 2, Ropati, Luke, Fa'alogo, Blair tries; Inu 5/7, Luke 0/1 goals)
Papua New Guinea 6 (Moore try; Wilshere 1/1 goal)

Costigan gets an intercept on the halfway mark. PNG on attack.

A simple knock on from Ropati. 5 and a half to go. Just watching the clock now, I think.

The commentators are sticking the boot in for the lack of big games for PNG, and rightly so. It's been 12 years since these two teams have last played each other.

Eastwood breaks through and runs the last 20 to score. Kick to come.

New Zealand 48 (Mannering 2, Perrett 2, Ropati, Luke, Fa'alogo, Blair, Eastwood tries; Inu 6/8, Luke 0/1 goals)
Papua New Guinea 6 (Moore try; Wilshere 1/1 goal)

2 minutes to go and the boys will be chasing 50. This could be interesting.

Perrett being ruled to have knocked it on right by the try line. Could have made the 50.

Full time.

Papua New Guinea 6 (Moore try; Wilshere 1/1 goal)

It seems as though the Kiwis are on their way back. Mannering went AWOL last week, but he's present and able, now.

Ian seems to have gone AWOL, leaving me to update this thread by myself. I feel like Skinny...

You done well mate. Might keep you on.

Check out my 1st post and you'll know where I was. :)

Gansen is a dweeb. Commentators were a bit harsh on Manu, thought he played well. Marshall played the first half well, we almost don't need a halfback when he's playing like that. Luke proved a few points, I'd expect him to start at 9. Wouldn't be suprised to see Fein at 7now. I know I've stuck by Leuluai, but he's just not pushing the guys around enough. He'll be back with more experience though, showed some good running and his kicking game is good, just needs to work on leadership.

Commentators were keen on 6. Marshall, 7. Fein, 9. Luke, 14. Leuluai.

I think putting Hohaia at 14 would be a better move, although he did start to attack the football a lot more this game. I noticed Perret fielded most of the kicks though, and it was almost as if we had two fullbacks really. Inu played right centre and right wing today anyway... yes, he was that fast. Ropati was actually not too bad today. PNG's try was down the other flank, so nothing huge to pick on him for defensively. He was probably helped though, by Vatuvei being possibly the angriest ever.

Eastwood was good too.

Ha!

*makes a mental note to learn how to read* :D

It wasn't Auckland airport again, was it Ian? I could do with another meal at an Italian restaurant... :lol1:

Yeah, I loved Manu's anger!

Fien basically was our halfback tonight, number 9 jersey notwithstanding.

Walk in the park, really expected more from PNG. While good for the Kiwis, it's like finally blowing those rusty old legs out. Well done Kiwis...and All Blacks. Both with wins, Yah!!
