Vasuvulagi started his league career as a Bay Roskill Viking junior playing in the same team as Tom Ale.

Despite being offered a contract by the Warriors, Vasuvulagi instead took up a contract with the North Queensland Cowboys in 2016 where he spent the next two years playing for the Cowboys NYC team and the Townsville Blackhawks in the Queensland Hastings Deering Colts competition (Hastings Deering Colts is Queensland rugby leagues U21 Jersey Flegg equilivant).

In 2018, Vasuvulagi started at lock in the Hastings Deering Colts Grand Final team losing to eventual champions Norths Devils.

In 2019, Vasuvulagi returned to NZ and played for the Glenora Bears in the Fox Memorial competition. At the end of the 2019 season Vasuvulagi was selected for the Akarana Falcons who won the NZ competition after beating the Canterbury Bulls in the Grand Final. Vasuvulagi was also selected to play for the NZ Maori Residents team who beat the England Community Lions XIII 40-24.

In February 2020, Vasuvulagi was signed to the Altona Roosters Rugby League Club and played in their senior mens team. In late 2020, Vasuvulagi represented the New Zealand Maori team.

In 2021 and 2022, Vasuvulagi once again played for the Glenora Bears.

On 9 February 2023, Vasuvulagi played in the Warriors first trial game against the West Tigers at Mt Smart Stadium scoring the last try in the 48-12 win...

Apparently he was around the 130kg mark a couple years ago but then he got into crossfit quite seriously and even entered a few contests. Since then hes down to a trim 98kg. Reckons he's lost weight but still has the power. I was actually quite surprised at how fit he was as I only remember the heavier version. After his efforts last night he could be a genuine bolter this season...

98kg at 6 foot 5 is unreal. I’d like to see him take one of the 4 remaining spots, seems like a greater clubman and a completely different body shape to throw compared to what we’ve got.

This is awesome.
I’d imagine CrossFit would be a lot harder for the bigger guys too with all the pull ups and body weight stuff.
Awesome that he was doing it off his own bat too.
Do the mahi, get the treats.

Could upgrading him be our answer at prop.

Was he the guy in the trial that came on the 2nd half and skittled a few tigers on to their backsides? And did every hit up like it was his last chance on planet earth?
The one who scored the last try

Who were the three forwards who were temporarily put into the 30? Was he one of them?

"Meanwhile, Stuff understands Solomon Vasuvulagi, Eiden Ackland and Kalani Going have all been promoted to train with the first grade team after impressing coaches.

The thee players were all signed to be a part of the Warriors’ reserve grade NSW Cup team this year, with the club back in it for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The players will stay with the first grade team for the trial against Wests Tigers at Mt Smart Stadium on February 9.

If they go well during that time, they’ll remain with the top team for the trial against the Storm in Christchurch on February 18.

There is the potential for these players to grab one of the four currently vacant spot on the Warriors’ 30-man NRL roster if they continue to do well."

I think the weight stat is light. He looks around 108kg more like. Could be a great acquisition. A bench forward to rip shit up for a few minutes like Iafeta Paaleasina.

Looked closer to 120 kg

Weight as told to me by his father who I spent the whole trial sitting next to and talking to. I have been friends with him and his family for 39 of my 43 years. I trust his intel on his son over anyone gawkimating a man's weight on the telly...
