hi jesse, i just bcame registered to trade me n i would like to ask a seller a question but it says i hav to bcome authenticated n wen i try n put in a balance amount it says i m unable to make a payment at that time bcoz my current balance is $0.00 n i dont no wat to do bcoz to b honest i dont even no wat a balance is if i had some money as my current balance does that mean i hav to pay money to ask the seller a question? could u please tell me wat i should do. cheers : )

Hehe, my name isn't Jesse, but...

The balance side of things - you have to put in a bit of money into your account via credit card. Every time you win an auction or sell an item, TradeMe takse a small success fee as its commission, and it's from that balance it takes it from. I have no recollection as to how that is to be done.

As for the authenticated side of things - not too sure on that one. Perhaps that is something specific to the auction.

You have to be an authenticated member to ask a question on an auction, and to become authenticated you have to credit your account with a minimum of $10. You can do this by using a credit card or bank deposit. The money in your account can be used to add a gallery or feature listing when you put an auction on (and other special features) and the success fee from your action if the item sells is taken from your account as well.
