I still don’t see a heck of a lot of football smart in this team.
Regardless of today’s result this season is gone.
Even if we make the eight it’s only going to be as cannon fodder for who ever we get.

however.
I will be watching with interest how the new guys go and how the young fullas play.

I am also keen to see how Shaun Johnson goes.

I am still no where near convinced that he is the missing piece. If anything I believe he will be a handbrake on any progress we might make this season.

hopefully he will prove me wrong.

Will our edge forwards be allowed to terrorise Johnson today? He gets put off easily so it would be good to get a couple of good hits on him early.
But then imagine if they broke him 😁 would the player that hit him get a bonus or would he get sacked?

Damn was going to take a rest from watching them and save drinks and the small bit of brain I have left.Just hope they show something to get us remotely excited for rest of the week.
Oh, they will show something. The 6 games we’ve lost by less than 6 points we’ve shown something every game, it’s just those last 10 minutes that we end up showing something else haha.

I thought that last week was our do or die match, but this week it really is. Because of that massive log jam, winning today means that we stay in touch, and winning 6 of our last 8 which is super doable, would see us make the 8.

For me, that would be a pass mark for this year, with a view to 2022 hopefully back at home, with our younger guys a bit more experienced, and with a couple of key signings on the way

For me a more likely outcome is Shaun Johnson will somehow sink us... try assist or drop goal...
but wait, what... just an inkling... fighting away, way way back in the the far reaches of the brain... found it yea... if only this side does somehow find some rhythm... piles on a heap of points putting the Sharks away.... hey hey hey

.
I cannot abide spoiling my viewing experience with the stress of must win this and that.

Therefore there is only one thing to do. Watch the new guys and Shaun Johnson. And hope for something exciting in doing so, like Rocco Berry taking another developmental step next to Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

Or Lodge and Addin Fonua-Blake bowling dudes out of the way.

Or Reece Walsh taking another step on the path to raising the Warrirors game.

But most of all, it would solve a lot of problems if SOS settles into this NRL business, we seem to ignore that he is young and has played barely any games and certainly not many in a row.

Unfortunately we have lost too many games by less than 6 points to make the top 8 - Games we should have won like last weekend etc. We do not have the ability to close out a game. Main reason is we do not have a play maker who can control a game. With Shaun Johnson back next season, hoping he does not get injured, I feel we will be able to win these close games. Chanel Harris-Tavita, SOS, and Kodi do not have the brains to control a game. Yes today is a must win, but I think the must win game was last weekend and sadly we never had anyone to control the game - We should never have lost after being 18-6 up.
Season starts today. The run home is all that counts. 9 games. Everything that has happened so far does not count anymore. It’s done. Yes we’ve screwed up 6 games… last week was the worst of them. Should not have lost.

but this week is another opportunity to get it right. We have 6 other teams fighting for two slots. We are in the hunt.

at some point we will get it right. One day we will carve up a team by 50. We’ve recruited well this season. We just need a bit of luck and some consistent execution. I.e. stop playing dumb football when under pressure.

I firmly believe we will go on a run of wins this seasons. We just have to. Even if we don’t make the eight, we have to be in with a shot until the last game to build for 2022.

i think we will make it. I think the dragons, sharks tigers and knights will struggle from here on in.

we have to beat the sharks twice though. It must start today or we it could be a step too far…

I couldn’t take another loss by a field goal. That would be killer.

If Reece Walsh can get a chance to use his speed through a gap we have to be in with a chance. I have gone for the Janfin special.
