Cheers for the feedback on Hoffmans time at Wigan.....two of our regular Wigan posters rate him highly that will do me RidingPie + @kitwazzer .

The silly posts about who's Hoffman are because he's been heavily discussed in the signings threads.......

You would expect a signing to have their own thread when you visit a Rugby league website lol

Very little is known about Hoffmans year in the UK from this end.

Clearly you boys know more about him than these smart arses...you've spent a year watching the player.

Acutually Hoffmans probably set some kind of new record for a main signing not getting their own thread.

Part of it's the speed that it's happened and the fact his signing has happened amidst two other simultaneous offers for secound rowers ?

Add to that this would be the bussiest recruitment drive I can remember since Tate Wiki Price......there are two other irons in the fire ( the two offers for centers now becomes one ) and the what will Isaac Luke do question.

There is also the divide and uncertainty over Hoffman.....

Craig Bellamy on Hoffman ( Sterlo )

'It's a huge blow for us....It's really Sad to be honest..... when he came and said he was going to be leaving.......It's hard to believe that Ryan Hoffman isn't going to be finishing his career with the Melbourne Storm......It's a bit surreal to be honest '

' In all my time in the game there is I've never seen a better CLub man .....Club player "

I'm really excited for next year as I rate him highly. He reminds me of those skinny lanky players I used to play against when I was younger, I would just try and smash them so hard and they would smile at me and come back 100 miles per hour. He looks deceptive but his work rate and his balance when he runs is amazing. Running good lines are one of the things Warriors players are not usually good at and its great to know we have Hoffman and Bukuya next year to fill that role for us. Mateo runs good lines too but he is lazy and doesn't do it enough.

Pretty much epitomizes his signing to me...Club man,Club player, that's the vision for the future of this club, all in it together as a team professionalism to a tee..

No more inconsistent squad members dragging the rest down.
Yeah and Bellamy meant it.
He wasn't trying to say something nice....he made a point of saying with any team he's ever been associated with.
Best influence over at the Storm
That's what people are hoping for. Certainly Bellamy is giving him the same type rating that we talk of Campion and Price. He's shaping up as special for us.

Mannering needs that type of support.....I noticed Mannnering was the only Warrior Hoffman hasn't played with ( Unlike when he mentioned Tommkins and TL ) that he singled out today on Radio sport " I have the utmost respect for Simon Mannering ".

A lot of comments on his signing either here or in the press on why we need another back rower; ours are fine. Remember we haven't made the finals in two years; this recruitment drive started after another bad start to the year and another coach being sacked

He should be professional enough that we should know what sort of performance we are going to get each week, provide leadership in a young squad and help develop our youngsters.

For next year with Hoffman, Bakuya, Mannering, add in Lousi and Ikahihifo who are both looking more comfortable in first grade we have the competition for spots we have been wanting.

Cheers for the heads up Sup42, I hadn't recognised the sarcasm!

Hoff joined us in 2011 along with Finch and Lima. Madge was instrumental in getting them at Wigan when Storm had to offload due to salary cap infringements. He was an instant fans favourite. We were gutted when he went back but it was a good year for him, ending with a Challenge Cup win at Wembley where his mate Jeff Lima won the Lance Todd Trophy. Great memories of 3 players we were blessed with for too short a time!

That's three ex Wigan Warriors champions in the squad next year.

What's the saying: two's company, three's a crowd.

It can only lend weight to what TL and Tomkins are trying to do out in the middle.

The more proven champions in the squad the better I say.

Then hopefully, one day soon, the whole squad will be champions.

don't worry, at the end of this season they WILL ALL be CHAMPIONS....i think hha

I hear him being described as the Warriors new Michael Luck, probably a little unfair to Hoffman who is a lot better attackwise.

I think he has potential but probably wont be a dominant player over here. Who will go I wonder, Mateo, Bukuya, Peyroux, Henry, Ikihihifo, Lousi?

That's the same measured way you looked at Bukuya.....good player won't be dominant here. I see a pattern , good player goes to under performing club = uncertainty.

That's reasonable if i read that right.

Just on Bukuya do you recon he's coming along ?

As for who gets dropped, Peroux and Mateo for mine......neither have played consistently like First grade material...Seb Benry and Lousi are giving it a good crack....getting picked.

Mateo for sure. He's taking up the cap space so he's out the gate.

Unless he agrees to a substantial pay cut, similar to what the other part time warriors edge forwards are getting.
