I’m not sure there’s very much left to capture aside from rubble. Ukraine has been defending it because of the WW1 tactics of the Wagner group which are simply to charge at the enemy. They’ve lost thousands and it’s bought time while Ukraine wait for the weapons upgrade arriving. Also, running up a flag in total darkness isn’t exactly confirmation of a victory, he’d probably have been shot in daylight hours

I suppose it has nothing to do with being the most sanctioned country in history. They and China along with others are ditching the US dollar as their reserve currency. Sanctions only have power if the dollar retains it's position. How is that for economics.
So you're saying the sanctions are having an effect and hurting Russia? Completely different from what you were just saying

Yes and no, the sanctions are hurting, but not to the extent particularly the US wanted. The Russian economy is still growing.
